If you are deaf as a post and caching the Spirit of Tasmania at dawn this is the place to stay. The rooms are clean and appear to have been renovated fairly recently. With traditional park at the door accomodation , onsite pub meals and a bottle shop this would suit the budget traveller. . The proximity to the Spirit...

The hotel is located next to ferry terminal in East Devonport, right on the waters edge. The main building is a pub with TAB and this is where the reception is located. The reception area seemed dark as we entered from the rear car park but the welcome we received was warm and friendly. It is worth noting that there...

We ate here prior to catching the ferry the next morning yes its pub tucker but the best garlic bread i have tasted in a long time nice staff and a twist with the herbs on the roasted veg. One draw back the smoking area was full of fat fumes from the deep fat fryer in the kitchen. .i know...

Great feedback, we were so pleased to hear for your wonderful culinary experience. Edgewater is old historic pub that still surprises many visitors. Our secret is friendly service, timeless favorites in the Bistro and the opportunity for fun. Hope you'll be back for more.

Well we stay here for 3 days the room was clean and the bed was to hard. First night we had tea roast of the day lamb it was nice for something that was reheated and the next night chicken parma it was big but paper thin and why would you put a tub of tartar sauce and a piece...

Many thanks for your feedback and glad that you enjoyed your stay. You are perfectly correct... we serve pub meals in our bistro. In fact, our bistro is well known for serving 'old pub favorites' (comfort food) and generous servings, a style that is well appreciated by Tasmanians and most visitors from the mainland. For those that want a more...

Chose this place to stay so that we could watch the Spirit of Tasmania arrive and depart, as its location was right were it berths. We stayed for 1 night. The rooms are a bit outdated, but do the job. The restaurant was nice to have dinner at. Everything closes early, so have to be booked into your room before...

Many thanks for you honest feedback. We agree... the hotel is a little outdated and tired. If all goes to plan over the next 2 years, we are hoping to renovate several rooms and give the outside of the hotel/motel a complete makeover. We'll look forward to your comments after then.

Was excellent!! Location is nice with beautiful surrounding .. . Regular room service and mini bar would have been better with basic apple android mobile phone chargers . Anyway value is reasonable so just can go extra miles with prompt addressing of few things

Thank you for your 'excellent' feedback. We made the decision to remove the mini bars some years ago owing to stocks being out-of-date (low turnover) and found that some items had been tampered with posing a health and safety issue. As an alternative, guests are encouraged to use our bottle shop, providing a wider range of quality beverages... at lower...

We arrived from our flight which ran late to find the place deserted. No way to contact any night manager or other staff member to let us into our room. Repeated phone calls to the after hours number were answered by 'this number has been disconnected'. Ended up at another hotel. No communication from venue since. We will lodge a...

We were very alarmed by your distressed visit to Edgewater Hotel. Being a regional hotel, we do not provide 24-hour reception, trading usually between 6am and 10pm, except Sundays and public holidays. Guests that have not checked in by close of reception are contacted by phone and advised of their room number and the security code to the key safe...

I have stayed at this motel a couple of times now and find it to be very good for what I need. The location is good. The rooms are good and spacious, they are well appointed and the beds are comfortable. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The Bistro is also good.

Staff are really friendly. Couches are dirty, the bed was hard but very clean and welcoming. We had the spa room and the spa was beautiful and relaxing. Area around the hotel is noisey most of the night. Sad because it looked so nice on line. We probably won't be back.

Many thanks for your feedback. We will certainly look into cleaning the couch, an oversight on our behalf. As for the bed being too hard... it is a commercial quality mattress which is designed to sustain varying body weights over time. Guests often remark that they had a very comfortable and sound sleep. In the end, it all comes down...

The rooms are older but they were clean and the bed comfy - that's the main thing. It took me longer than I'd like to admit to find the light switch for the lights above the bed - and was quite frustrated to find they were hidden behind the pillows on the bed. The Restaurant is fantastic, well priced tasty...

Many thanks for your constructive feedback. We admit the bedhead light switches in the older rooms are tricky to find and very close to passing ships. On your next visit, consider upgrading to a Terrace room which are more modern, spacious, have views of Devonport and are set back from the Mersey River. Yes, the Port Restaurant offers great value...
