The cabins are comfortable but basic. What you get however is quite amazing: - a lovely area around cabins with animals in abundance - walks starting points - your car inside the park! no more bus shuttles - very reasonably priced accommodation This is the best accommodation in the park as you don't rely on the bus shuttles which stop...

Loved staying at Waldheim Cabins. Loved the special access and the proximity to the walks. It was basic but had a stove and oven and pots and pans. We ordered the bedding pack which included sheets, pillow, doona and a towel. NEED TO REMEMBER This is in a National Park bring WATER (as tap water IS NOT for drinking) and...

Although very basic and quite rustic we loved Waldheim for its serenity, outlook, natural beauty and location. Quite simply you can't stay closer to the start of the Overland Track than at Waldheim. We visited at a particularly busy time and staying at Waldheim meant we could drive up into the park rather than be forced to leave our car...

The most basic accomodation but cosy and with everything you need! No phone signal which is brilliant!!! Wildlife everywhere and a lovely village feel. The best way to enjoy the Tasmanian wilderness if you ask me :)

We stayed for 2 nights in Amarina cabin (closest one to the amenities block). It had everything we needed (just had to bring our groceries), with a toaster, kettle, stove and fridge. It had a little oil fin heater which we found inadequete when the temp dropped below 3*C. We hired our linen and the bedding was clean and warm....

The huge advantage of the Waldheim Cabins is being able to get up, put your boots straight on and walk out your door on your way to the mountain. There are both short and long walks which start at the bottom of the hill. All other accomodation is outside the park. So from other accomodation you have either a long...

Right in the heart of the park, and easy to access (you are provided with a tag to open the boom gate at the park entrance so you do not need to rely on the shuttle buses). Fantastic with kids as there are wombats and paddy melons everywhere. It is also central to great walks. Why pay well over double...

We loved it. You can't stay much closer to Cradle Mountain than above Ronny's Creek. The huts were rustic but very cosy and equipped beyond our expectations. The heater was awesome, as was the near new stove / oven and the large dining table. The shower was hot and the amenities clean. Beds suprisingly comfortable. We walked the Dove Lake...

Don't get me wrong, this is not 5 star accommodation but it is a great place to stay. The cabins are basic but well equipped, you can book bedding or use your own. The cabins make a great base for climbing Cradle Mountain or other hiking in the park. They are set in the forest with wallabies and wombats around....
