We stayed here after visiting the caves. The main building is very impressive, but needs a bit of updating and decorating. We stayed in one of the annexes, which were 3 or 4 person bedrooms with a bathroom and kitchen. Clean and comfortable but basic. Dinner was in the main dining room of the hotel and I wasn't expecting much... More

We arrived late in the evening and saw the entrance all lit up. I was travelling with a friend from the US and he was stunned by this natural feature. We had pre-booked dinner which was very nice. After dinner we retired to a quiet fire place in this magnificent old world building. Our accommodation was the cheap Gate House... More

Traditional room for only $102 for the night so can't complain about that value. I had a shared bathroom which was not a problem given there seemed to be few other people on my floor at the time. Might be a problem it busy given only one male shower and one male toilet on the floor (perhaps 20 rooms?) The... More

Returned to Jenolan Caves after 5+ years and it is still just the way I remembered it. Beautifully set within a steep valley that you won't forget in a hurry. It was very busy the night we stayed at Caves House and we could only get the basic "traditional room". This meant the room was a bit of a squeeze... More

We stayed 2 nights at Caves House. Our room was adequate but not great value for money. The furniture and fittings have definitely seen better days. The shower was dangerously hot. We ate in both the main dining room and the bar area and found both to be very enjoyable. The highlight was the genuine enthusiasm of the mostly young... More

It was nice to stay overnight at the caves so you could do whichever tour you wanted and not worry about driving afterward. The Caves House had a quaint traditional and dated decor which fit with the history. The room was warm and had it's own vanity. There were shared toilets and showers. The staff were all great and very... More

Where in the world can you stay at world famous caves in a unique heritage-style building? Not very many places. Yes, Caves House is maybe a not that polished, but it is full of heritage, and history and charm and warmth. I loved it. We stayed in one of the rooms that used the shared bathrooms, which honestly were just... More

Unfortunately communication is not a strong point. One thing that we really wanted to do was the ghost tour. Unfortunately it is only on every second weekend, however it did not show this anywhere on the website. Sent an email enquiring about it and was pretty much told to change our weekend even though it was all booked. Then didn't... More

Certainly not at it's shining best, this wonderful, if slightly run down Victorian get away is still a wonderful place to stay. The decor hearkens back to it's Victorian roots which is lovely and magical, but don't scratch the surface. You will easily find things to pick on but I recommend you don't. . . Just sit back and enjoy... More
