Tripadvisor gives a Travelers’ Choice award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travelers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor.
Our accommodations are fully equipped houses/condos located on Yelapa's main beach. Each house has at least one to two private bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, living room/dining room and bathroom. We have high speed internet in each room. Each house has a spectacular view of the Yelapa bay, the main beach and the river. We have a private beach with umbrellas and beach chairs for our guest. Yelapa has many great restaurants that offer a variety of foods from traditional Mexican and even some american treats. Some of the restaurants have live music one or more nights during the week. There are several grocery stores where you can buy most anything you might need to prepare your meals in our fully equipped kitchens. There are no cars in Yelapa so it is very tranquil. Yelapa has a variety of activities including full service aquatic adventures. Island tours, fishing, snorkeling and specialty tours can be arranged. There is horse back riding, kayak rentals, tours to beautiful waterfalls and much much more.

Garcia's is probably officially my favorite place to stay in Yelapa. For my purposes, the location cannot be beat. It's easy access to the main beach, and also not a bad walk to the village. The private stairs and beach are a bonus most other rentals do not have. Yes, it's rustic. IT'S YELAPA. Yelapa requires a significant amount of walking so not a good spot for those with limited mobility. However, the charm of this village is truly special. Garcia's have consistently taken care of me. On this trip, from booking, to the text from Yuri to verify my arrival time and to see if I wanted the water taxi ticket (I chose this option), to getting a quad ride to my casa with my suitcase for the first time in all of my trips to Yelapa. I needed a new water jug and they took care of that and replaced it when I told them I needed help. Though I had to wait about 25 minutes for assistance with my suitcase upon checkout, Yuri was immediately responsive and made sure someone came and I got the pier. My casa wasn't ready when I arrived and I simply waited at the private beach for 30 minutes while they cleaned it for me. The small kitchen with all the needed dishes is great for heating up leftovers (there are no microwaves!!!), or if you want to make a meal or meals for yourself during your stay. I recommend Hortensia's tienda in the main village for groceries! The views from Garcia rentals are absolutely remarkable.

This is a wonderful hotel nicely situation near town while overlooking the bay with the sound of crashing waves throughout the night. We loved the indoor/outdoor feel in Vista Del Mar 1 with best dishwashing view in the world. The staff were great, easy to communicate with, and accommodating.

The Casas were cute and it felt like an experience although there could be some updates like plugs for the kitchen sink so you could wash dishes, our toilet handle was broken, there is no where to hang your bath towels, maybe a fly swatter to kill the bugs in the room. One of our rooms had mold on the ceiling. We also arrived at the beginning of what they called Yelapa Gathering which was a techno music festival that literally went all night - to 8am. It was disturbing and took away from the Yelapa experience, it seemed displaced. Having our own beach front with umbrellas and chairs was awesome!
The website offers you airport pickup and water taxi tickets. The airport pickup is a joke. You can pre-pay and then when you get there, you get asked to pay again. The driver will sit at the booth exit at the airport and refuse to drive you anywhere unless you pay again. I brought this up to the organizer Yuri Garcia who said she would make it right and offered a refund but never paid and it ended up being taken to the bank resolution which is ridiculous. You get overcharged to start with and then double paying is robbery and distasteful business.

Stayed in Del Mar #4. Rustic and open air. Great view of the beach below. Beds were comfy and soft, not the hard slabs that used to be all over MX..even pillows were soft. The hotel is situated on a hillside, so if mobility is an issue, not the place for you, as the stairs are numerous and steep. There is no maid service. We did not get any while there for 7 days. You put your garbage bags outside the door. We bought bottled water in town, I would not trust the water dispenser, as you don't know when it was last cleaned. If you want clean towels, beach towels etc, or need TP, go to the ''office'', everything is kept in a room adjacent. The 'casas' appear to be individually owned, or perhaps only some are owned by the hotel, as some of the casas are upgraded with nice tile and furnishings. There is no one onsite at night either. And hence, there is no security either. They rely on guests to lock the door at the top entrance, but almost every time, it was unlocked. We caught some kids trying doors. After that, we were a bit rattled as if you stand back and really look, the casas are easy to access if you're really wanting to steal things from gringos. We reported it to the manager. This place really needs to up their security game with keycode doors etc. Rooms do have safes, so keep all valuables in there at all times, even at night. With some upgrading to furnishings, and security, this place could be a lot better for the money. The location is great though, as is the view.

My husband and I had to change our vacation plans and by chance found this wonderful place to stay in Yelapa. We stayed in Casa Playa two bedroom suite right off the beach. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. Deck chairs and table were a great place to relax. The king bed was very comfortable with a soft bed and warm blankets. It gets cool at night so you don’t need AC there was a fan which worked well. The bedroom door has a lock so you can secure your self at night as the rest of the unit is open air. There is a lock box to secure your valuables and a locked door at street level. They provided drinking water and beach towels. The resort has its own beach umbrellas that are just for their guest. Which they monitor. The day boats arrive at about 11 and leave around 3 but they are on the other side of the beach. The food in town was amazing with large portions. We had a snack at one of the beach restaurant the day we arrived which was 4 huge coconut shrimp. The best. The best restaurant in town is Abuelos. There is a grocery store just down the hill. Bring good walking shoes We will definitely be back

Casa Playa has a really nice lay out, an open air communal area overlooking the lagoon and beach, with two bedrooms and a bathroom. When we arrived, the bathroom was pretty dirty and the shower didn't drain. There weren't enough mugs for four of us. When I went to the desk to ask for two mugs, the visibly disgruntled Arelio (sp?) went in the back and then handed me 2 dirty mugs. He was rude and unfriendly. A sign on the wall says the room will be cleaned on your 3rd day. on our 4th day I asked Arelio when it would be cleaned. He said tomorrow. We left several days early despite having paid for the full week. Although we have a credit for the remaining nights, I can't imagine using it. The vibe of the place was you're here, you already paid, and we don't care.

We just traveled to Yelapa in February 2020. The location of Garcia rentals is perfect with limitation to accessing the main beach on one side due to the river that runs through the beach. The river is deep enough at high tides that the boats can drive through it so I would definitely not attempt crossing this at night in the dark. The rooms were clean and what we expected with the exception that I thought the rooms were totally enclosed which they are not. This allows for insects, geckos and in our situation a bat to come in and out as it pleased (only twice once when leaving and once returning). I found all conversations with David to be quick and pleasant but there had been a mix up over the fact that I had paid it in full when I was still in Canada. I had showed Erik at the hotel the electronic copy of the paypal and I was still questioned and was told that I owed another $50.00. When I was checking out I had indicated to Erik that there was a bat in the second room and he didn't appear to be surprised. This is a beautiful place, great and quick communication with David and I would highly recommend it but would like others to know that the rooms are not 100% enclosed as I thought so that you can be better prepared. The view is unbeatable, community and people are friendly, waterfall is beautiful and the food is absolutely wonderful. Just remember to bring pesos and request a bug screen for over the bed as they aren't available unless requested.

It is painful for me to give such a lovely place and such nice people a one-star review. Everything the four and five star reviews are saying is true.
BUT our room was completely open to anyone who wanted to just walk in, and we realized this too late. That's such a huge flaw that I just cannot recommend this place at all. There is a door that locks, yes, but anyone could just step from the platform next door (open to the public) right onto the roof outside our room and then walk in through the archways.
There is a safe to leave your valuables in while you are gone, but we didn't think we needed to use the safe while we were there. Yet we were robbed while we were in the room asleep. Cell phone, sunglasses, and all the money from my wallet went missing overnight. There may be more missing that we haven't noticed yet.
Kind of creepy to know that someone was in our room rifling through our things while we slept. Probably kids, but still.
If you decide to stay here even after reading this review at the very least insist on a room other than Rio 5 and store your valuables in the safe before you go to sleep.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 5 and 8 year olds. Can’t say enough great things about it. We sat and watched whales, birds, fish, and geckos for hours. The condo itself was well thought out with everything we needed, including bonus items like Tupperware and lime press.
If you book here to stay I recommend bringing binoculars for all the wildlife, we wish we had!
Can’t wait to come back!

First time to Yelapa and we stayed for 10 nights! Loved the village and our place at Garcia rentals. We were in Casa Angela and it was perfect for the two of us. Bedroom and bathroom enclosed. And the kitchen and living area were perfect. Clean, comfortable, felt totally secure. The village is amazing. Went to the waterfall one day and explored the village a day or two but otherwise spent time at the beach which was perfect! Tourists from PV come in late morning and leave early afternoon so then you get the village as a local. Restaurants aren’t open every day so you need to know which ones are open on which days and plan accordingly. The staff was in the offIce of Garcia Rentals every day so anything we needed was handled promptly. Loved our stay and definitely plan to go back soon!

I would contact Garcia Rentals directly via their Website. I'm sure someone will get back to you. There are several floors and units, and two separate sides.
Hello....I understand what you are saying! There is not problem what so ever. We have never had a problems with bugs and the open air is not a problem. I wasn't sure either, but the weather and the views are so great, you don't mind at all. I am sure if you have an reservations about the open air, just let Erik know at office and he can help with shutters. But again the view is awesome both day & night that you will want to enjoy it!
There are more places to choose from in the Yelapa area.
