In October 2015 my girlfriend & I had a perfect meal/experience. We've been back twice since and had reasonable meals but with very slow service. On Sunday we were in a large party & had pre-ordered our meals. We arrived to chaos at the bar, (with one young female member of staff drying cutlery & had the most miserable facial...

We took over the whole place for a wedding elsewhere. Clean comfortable rooms and very warm too. Late drinks for some when they got back. The next morning we all turned up for breakfast plus 10 extra. They coped admirably and presented a hearty meal. A nice find.

We had Sunday lunch yesterday and couldn't fault the food - roast lamb and beef were both very tasty and plenty of roasties and veg; and the (bought in?) puds were fine. However the service left a great deal to be desired - including a very long wait for the meal to arrive and even longer to clear the plates,...

Beautifully quirky 17th Century pub with an interesting history. Tracey is a very friendly lady and nothing is too much trouble. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean. Louise at the bar is a great example of good manners and warm hospitality - it doesn't cost anything to be nice to people and it makes your stay anywhere...

I stayed here for one night after a Memorial Service in nearby Lurgashall which had involved a long and arduous journey. I had a king bedded suite which, though small and cosy, was not at at all cramped. The room was spotless, with adjustable heating and very good lighting. The bed was definitely a kingsize and extremely comfortable. Tea, coffee...

Passed by this place late afternoon on our way back from house hunting on the south coast, starving and thirsty... We had tried several other places but they were not serving food until much later so this was a very lucky find. Welcomed by staff, seated comfortably in restaurant and had the absolutely best fish pie on the planet. My...

We were visiting friends close by and enjoyed a Sunday Roast beef meal including starters. We all enjoyed our meals which were very presentable. We found the staff to be friendly and quite helpful, although some of the young girls appear to be a little shy! Our room "Gentle Harry" was clean and comfortable with good towels and some toiletries...

If you like B&B you shouldn't be disappointed. Rooms are very big and clean. Staff helpful, especially the owner. It's located in nice area. Walk distance to Petworth House and Park. Breakfast very testy.
