We have recently stayed over night at the hotel, which we had our wedding reception at,after reading through some of these reviews and looking at the awful photos, I was horrified and messaged the hotel to go and have a look at the bedrooms before our stay. I was happily surprise about the rooms I was shown and told staff members it was a shame that guests don’t seem to post any positive photos from their stay! The actual accommodation was located in a separate building as we were already aware with dunchurch park being a listed building it isn’t possible for them to put the bedrooms in the main house, which is understandable and didn’t cause us any problems, as it was literally opposite the main house. We had a number of rooms reserved family one with extra bed put in, disabled rooms with wet rooms and twin and doubles, also the bridal suite. The rooms did look a little old as expected they aren’t going to be Ultra modern as it doesn’t match the other building, they had all the facilities we needed with hair dryers, tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries, tv, towel etc. The rooms were clean and presentable, and I was told they are currently renovating the rooms with the older ones being done first. The hotel itself is located on lovely grounds which is perfect for an evening walk, there is also a pitch and put. The photos I’ve taken still don’t give the rooms justice, they are lots bigger and welcoming that the photos! We had breakfast included in our package, which a buffet style offering a range of cooked foods as well as continental options with cereal, pastries, yoghurts and fruit. One of our guests stayed an extra night and did mention that it’s best to get to breakfast a little earlier as foods seemed to be more fresh however I did see staff replenishing items when I was in the breakfast room later on in the morning. Overall it was a lovely stay, and a perfect venue for our wedding!!

This place is beautiful set in lovely grounds. Okay rooms are dated and need tlc. Housekeeping has been under pressure so we did have issues when we arrived But the staff were so kind and changed our rooms without a fuss. RIA and everyone on reception were so accommodating and polite could not do enough. The bar staff were excellent Amin and his team and the chef also made our stay so lovely. More chicken pie please.. Breakfast was excellent buffet style enjoyed it every morning. Thank you so much for looking after us.

We were greeted by reception staff who couldn't do enough to welcome us and assist us with our stay. Lovely room with newly refurbished ensuite. The food was amazing, 2 courses for our first night and 3 course Sunday lunch was out of this world! Going again this August

It’s hard to know where to begin....we arrived with high hopes of a relaxing and slightly indulgent few days and as we drove through the entrance and up the drive all seemed good. That’s where it ended...... I had booked a double room for me and my partner. Whilst checking in the receptionist realised by my name that I was Greek and seeing that I was with a woman, spoke to me in Greek and offered to move us to a twin room! I politely declined and moved on. What we should have done was get in the car and move to another hotel...... our room was a dorm like box in the conference centre. The double bed was a small double not a standard, the room wasn’t particularly clean and the walls paper thin. Dinner.....food was just tasteless and each course was served as if it was on a conveyer belt. My request for a wine list was met with we have red, white or rose!!! Breakfast the following morning was shambolic. No clean tables to sit at, no plates etc. We decided to cut our loses and have breakfast out.... we spoke to the duty manager who was apologetic but this didn’t resolve the issues. It’s a shame as the hotel and grounds have such potential but it feels completely unloved and the area that has been renovated (the hotel bar) feels like an airport lounge, cold and characterless.
