After a trip to Windsor we thought we would stop off at the Wheatsheaf Hotel for an early meal, we were seated at a table and drinks order taken which eventually arrived some 15 minutes later. We ordered our starters and main dishes, the restaurant was that busy but it appeared that there was a shortage of staff on duty... More

Popped in for morning coffee and couldn't recommend highly enough. Friendly, efficient service and really good coffee too. They have had a refurb but has not lost its charm. Lots of parking, next to Virginia Water lake so in a charming setting.

We used to eat at The Wheatsheaf Hotel on a regular basis, but stopped going after a catalogue of errors e.g. long waits, poor service, dirty cutlery, incomplete orders and other irritations. It must be at least two years since we last went, so we decided to go and see if things had improved. I'm pleased to say that they... More

Arrived here, with the restaurant busy with walkers. We counted 6 tables which had not been cleared up. Sadly the ones furthest from the bar and outside were left with old plates, etc. Not a good sense of arrival. The bar area also looked untidy. The staff were helpful, but obviously not attentive to their duties or the establishment is... More

Great meal great company great service. Nice location easy to get to. Quality food. I had the steak and it was cooked exactly as ordered the desserts were heavenly. Easy to get to a short walk from Virginia Waters.

Service Lazy, inept, couldn't care less. Kitchen staff out the back smoking and bar staff refusing to take a food order at 9:30 PM. Check in Took ten minutes for someone able to operate the "system" to show up. Room Desperately tired and worn out. Stifling hot and stuffy. No airflow, roaring traffic outside. Door hanging off the wardrobe. Thin... More

I had the veggie roast, a nut Wellington, my mum had the turkey which was moist and very tender. Both meals were a generous size with a huge Yorkshire pudding. As it was a hot day I had a pins, my mum just drank tap water. Our bill only came to £22.00. This restaurant has been refurbished and is very... More

Usually with these type of establishments I opt for 'pub grub' as it tends to be what they do best. However, after spotting seabass on the menu I went against my usual rule of thumb and ordered a seabass with scallops on a prawn and pea risotto......how silly I was! It is clear the seabass is fresh frozen leaving a... More

Absolutely terrible service. Waited ages to be seated then when seated at a dirty and unset table which we were told they would come and clean/set which didn't happen. Waited over an hour for food Very rude and unhelpful staff. When asked for cutlery and a napkin the waitress offered me a used one from a neighbouring table.
