My husband and I stayed here on the 5th December 2020. Our room was lovely, large, warm and very nicely furnished. We had a very good nights sleep in a very large and comfortable bed. The staff were extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much we have re booked for the beginning of May 2021. Tom who took our reservation was very pleasant and helpful. The ambience of the pub was lovely. We had a very relaxing overnight stay.
I booked the Running Horse just a couple of days before travelling. I found the rooms to be warm, clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep after a long day driving. The food offering in the restaurant was to my liking and well presented. I found all the staff to be helpful and friendly. The bar is a traditional old English country pub with warm fires and plenty of history.
From the warm and friendly welcome we received on arrival, setting the tone for the rest of our stay, there was a homely and relaxed atmosphere about the place. Food in the evening was fantastic served by professional, attentive and welcoming staff. Breakfast was absolutely top notch and the avocado on toast simply the best we have ever had. This is an absolute gem of a place and we will be back without a shadow of a doubt. Thank you.
My wife and I stayed here for just over a week in October/November as we needed somewhere to stay while visiting our son in Reigate. This is a pub/restaurant that has rooms upstairs. We were checked in quickly by a friendly and efficient member of staff. Room was OK with good clean comfortable bed and walk-in shower which I like. No bottled water provided in bedroom but staff will provide you with water if you ask for it at bar. Covid rules were applied so no daily room cleaning unless you ask for it. Staff wear masks at all times and social distancing /masks are required for guests while walking around. Staff members work long shifts it seems and also do the room cleaning etc so one of our requests for a change of towels was forgotten. But we did get these the next day so no…
Booked this lovely Inn for one night and we were not disappointed. Very traditional Inn that was warm and friendly. Lovely open fires and cosy atmosphere. Situated in a great spot if you are wanting to explore Box Hill. Positives:- room was lovely with comfy bed and lovely spacious bathroom and very clean, also quiet throughout the night. Unfortunately a couple of niggles but these could be ironed out by the management. We had a lovely bathroom but shelf missing - if not replacing then remove the brackets. Cupboard in the bathroom would look better without the screw in it to keep it shut. Pressure of the water in shower was poor but more so was the fact we only had lukewarm water. Breakfast menu is great however slight issue when the menu was mainly egg based and…
