This was our fourth visit and the checking in process was as professional as ever. The food was of a good quality and service was excellent. The room was very clean and the free mineral water and tea/coffee facilities were a nice change from other hotels. The rooms are in a separate building from the pub and were very quiet with no disturbance. Breakfast was extensive and hot options are cooked to order which is preferable to a buffet. Happy to recommend the establishment and will visit again.

We travelled to the area from Yorkshire for a lacrosse tournament and wanted to stay at a comfortable place near the games in Aldershot (10 min drive away). We arrived to check in receiving friendly faces and a pub full of relaxed patrons. Parking for those staying is next to the Inn in the rear of the pub. We had a ground-floor room with our pup for 2 nights. On the dresser was a food mat, dog bowls, bags and treats on the ready, for us, a coffee machine, kettle, tea, sugar, and coffee pods with plenty of glasses and spoons and milk in the fridge. It was impeccably clean and quiet.
The bathroom was spotlessly clean and modern and supplied with shampoo, conditioner, lotion and hand soap. Only con is that the functionality of the pumps for those items were a bit worn, so it was a struggle to pump out, but replacement of those and problem solved. White towels on the shelf and how to leave for replacement if needed. Bath mat and tub mat in the tub clean and rolled.
Outside there is a footpath across the street to trek with a dog for outings as well as some land around the property. Since they give you 3 bags this is handy if you forget your own.
We went to the pub bar area for food and drink and it was lively and fun, but could easily talk and bring our pup along. The food was delicious both nights and staff very friendly. A 60th birthday party was in the bar area with music and ages from toddler to elderly, so it is definitely a family sort of place but great for a happy hour or dinner out.
One surprise was that although gone from 9-4 on Saturday, housekeeping didn't visit. I'm not sure why. We didn't really need the service, but were wondering.
Cheers to the The Princess Royal. If ever in the area again, we will be back.

Stayed for one night in a comfy room. Really comfortable king size bed, crisp clean linen, perfect pillows, spotlessly clean. Room was quiet. Fluffy towels, nice tea, free water and milk - breakfast was freshly cooked nice selection of cold foods too and all perfect. . Friendly staff, good parking - no electric charging point unfortunately but still an excellent overnight stay.

We have previously stayed at this hotel and been generally satisfied but clearly the standard has dropped and the service followed. Upon arrival there was a very large pile of dog waste right at the front entrance door. We had to tell a member of staff to clear it. Nice arrival. The family room 12 is spacious and aircon nice but that’s where it ends. The pullout sofa bed is broken and sags badly and squeaks loudly. Both our kids couldn’t get to sleep. No one to help and quite frankly not interested. The mould in the bath is black and occupies the corner and then behind the taps. It’s really unhealthy and very bad for a young family especially as my daughter wanted a bath but was totally put off. A little bleach and this would be cleaned away and sealant could be put back. We pointed it out to the morning cleaning staff but they were not interested at all and said to speak to reception. Which we did but they were even less interested and said the manager was busy with a wedding party! If you pay for breakfast you expect to get everything but salmon is charged extra at £7 a slice and even mushrooms at £1.50! The staff look and dress like they are going to the gym or lazing at home and really lack basic customer service - customary always to ask how your breakfast is and if anything else can be done? Overall this is not a good place to stay and we will be staying at the many other choices of accommodation available in the local area.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the experience you had during your recent stay. It’s clear that we did not meet the high standards that you have come to expect from us, and for that, we are truly sorry. We deeply regret the unsightly condition at the front entrance upon your arrival and the issues with the cleanliness in the bathroom. This is not reflective of the standards we strive for, and we will be addressing these concerns with our housekeeping team immediately. We understand how frustrating it must have been to deal with the broken sofa bed and the lack of response from our staff when you reported these issues. We take customer comfort very seriously, and your comments will help us ensure this doesn’t happen again. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we work to improve our services. Once again, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Sincerely, Princess Royal team

To be honest a real surprise - in a very positive way. PUB with Rooms - we envisaged fairly basic rooms with probably some noise from the Pub itself. HOW WRONG CAN YOU BE The Rooms are in a totally separate Wing, Max 50 Yards from the pub - with its own large parking area. The rooms have definitely been refurbished fairly recently - quite spacious, very smartly decorated. A really nice room to come back to. Iron, Coffee Machine AND Kettle, Umbrella are in situ. Very comfortable bead and quiet. PUB itself Bright and Cheerful, Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. Had Dinner in the Restaurant Area fairly typical Pub Menu but VERY Tasty, properly cooked (in other words NOT overcooked) and Well presented - Fish and Chips - Venison Tagliatelle Small but Decent Wine List.
My one concern would be speed of serving Breakfast when the Hotel is very Busy, which I am sure it is judging by the number of tables at the front and back of the Hotel. Breakfast we good though. - Farnham 10 mins - Guidlford 20 mins
Overall would highly recommend.

We have stayed as a family nearly everyday in Jan & Feb: on and off different family due to visiting an unwell family member. Excellent select of beers as you would expect. Pride always good as is the HSB if you fancy something stronger. I moved on to the hophead which is a lighter ale. There is a decent selection of lagers and all wines and spirits. Food - plenty to choose and good quality. I really like the squid rings to start but if you like garlic bread ask them to add cheese - plentiful and tasty. Rooms spacious and comfy. They do advise to ask at reception (at the bar) for the room to be cleaned, towels, milk/coffee etc so just be aware of this. Really helpful when requests are put in. The quality of the room with the superb value is better than you get in most places. The bar area is relaxing and has numerous areas to sit. I imagine it’s great in the summer too as there is great seating areas out the front and back. The telling sign is the pub is often busy in what you may expect quiet times but not overcrowded. There is a regular crowd and everyone is very friendly as are the dogs that also enjoy the atmosphere. There are some lovely areas to walk close by and Farnham centre is a short distance away which is a great place. The castle is probably open now (was closed in January) and is free to visit. There are many independent shops to nose around. Staff have been brilliant at the princess royal. Really looked after us in what has been a difficult time. I probably shouldn’t mention names as I don’t know everyone’s and there are many superb people there. Shaun, Michael and Tom are those that I can remember and have been great but so have all the ladies and gents. They all work so hard and deserve plaudits for running a wonderful place, so thank you.

We were warmly greeted when we returned to celebrate our joint wedding anniversaries and again had a very comfortable stay. Had a slight problem with sat nav postcode, so be prepared to give the hotel a call, they will provide excellent directions or use Google maps on your phone. Our suites, Wey and Bourne, were beautifully furnished, double aspect, a/c, tv in main bedroom and in the seating area along with an amazing roll top bath with separate rain forest shower. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate available in the room, could do with more tea bags! Fresh milk in the fridge with biscuits, a nice welcome. Dining room for dinner and cooked to order breakfast, vegetarian options catered for. Extensive bar, serving speciality beer and Gin, £5 for a single between 5-6pm, Fri and Sat. Parking back and front.

Appreciate a really warm welcome after a long drive down from the midlands and the gentleman who checked us in was so informative and helpful credit to your team. We were there for two nights as my wife was in a golf competition locally and on our second night we had a meal booked for twelve and it was served to perfection all on time and decent portions and hot we also enjoyed good conversation with all the staff that evening and you were all very professional. The breakfast has a choice between cereals breads buns etc or an extensive choice of cooked to order ingredients which were locally sourced items and very delicious. Would use again as the room was ideal for a couple of night stay and would like to explore the local areas in more detail the only small complaint we have was the road noise but I think that’s time of year still weather etc our second night was better than the first. Possibly the best staff we have encountered in a uk hotel for quite sometime.

We were visiting relatives in Guildford but wanted a cosy boutique retreat for some us time.
This fitted the bill absolutely. Beautiful cosy comfortable rooms with lovely attention to detail decor.
Great breakfast. Attentive staff.
We've been all over Europe and around the world and this is one of the most all rounded hotels we've stayed at. Great that it's in UK and staff a credit to the brand.

Paid up front so check in was very quick. The room was very comfortable and a good size too. Plenty of space. You also get free tea and coffee (nespresso machine) plus a number of nice biscuits too. Good size TV, kettle, hair dryer and an ironing board. Plus aircon/heater. Plenty of parking too.
The pub itself was a nice atmosphere and very cosy vibe.
I can imagine in the summer would be nice with loads of outside seating at the entrance and at the back of the pub.
Our stay included breakfast and there was plenty to eat from pastries, fruit, cereal, tea/coffee toast. The cooked breakfast just order what you like.
The staff were so friendly with the reception, bar staff and the nice lady at breakfast who was ever so helpful.
