I cannot recommend this place enough. Amidst a global pandemic the team at princess royal were spectacular, helping to plan every step of the way. It wasn’t easy having to change plans every week but the princess royal made it super easy. Melissa was superb, even printed off menus for each of the guests. The Waverley room was perfect, the service was phenomenal, the food was second to none and the accommodation was incredible. You made my wedding day the best it could have been under the circumstances. I look forward to seeing you again soon. Rach xx

We stayed here for 2 nights as a much needed get away following the easing of Covid lockdown. Although it may appear to look like a regular pub with a few hotel rooms, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The service was great, the staff were friendly and we received a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe room - great! The hotel rooms are also in a separate building to the pub (just behind) which means it's nice & quiet. The room itself was spotless and nicely decorated, with complimentary bottled water, a bottle of beer in the fridge and fresh milk instead of UHT - always a nice touch! We also had an espresso machine, a kettle, iron & ironing board, hairdryer and toiletries. Everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. We ate in the pub restaurant on our first evening and the food was lovely - gastro pub quality. I had the steak and it was cooked exactly how I'd ordered. Great range of beers, ales, wines and spirits (particularly gins). Breakfast the following morning was also delicious, with a good variety of options and locally sourced quality ingredients. The only (very minor) downside to our stay was that our room was not attended to whilst we're out, between our first night and our second night stay. This meant that mugs were not replaced with clean ones, and the bed was not turned down. It wasn't a huge issue at the time, as we were only staying for a couple of nights, so we weren't too bothered. I assume it may be due to a Covid policy, but unsure why mugs couldn't at least be replaced by someone wearing protective gloves? Nevertheless, it was a lovely stay and we will definitely remember this hotel if we ever find ourselves in those neck of the woods again. The location is great - close to Farnham which has nice shops and restaurants, close to South Downs National Park for lovely walks and 15 mins away from Guildford which has nice shops and restaurants.

Just spent one night here whilst visiting family. Spacious room, good shower, air con and comfortable bed. No disturbances all night from pub or road. Breakfast was perfect. Outstanding service and lovely food. Coffee and toast topped up without asking. Social distancing observed and anti bac everywhere. Would recommend and return.

Stayed for 1 night whilst in the area for an event. We called on our way down to ask if they could fit us in to dine as we would be arriving later than we had planned and this was not an issue at all. The pub had a beautiful outdoor seating area where we enjoyed our meal and a few drinks. Every single staff member we spoke to was incredibly polite and helpful! The accommodation is a separate building to the rear of the pub with lovely rooms and even a complimentary beer in the fridge! Air conditioning was very much appreciated with the current humid weather and slept very well. Breakfast was again another great meal and fantastic service. Only slight downside was the small table but we could have been moved, but like I said it wasn’t a major issue. On checkout we needed a receipt for our stay and meal that we had paid the night before. The lady on reception asked if she could email us this as it may take some time due to us already clearing the bill. Shortly after leaving this was emailed. Overall a beautiful pub, staff that can’t do enough for you, great food and large drinks selection. If we are ever back in the area again we would love to return.
