Booked this hotel to stay one night before Robbie Williams concert with a friend. Was very impressed by the whole experience. Staff very friendly and helpful both on booking in and breakfast. The room was clean and warm.Fresh linen and towels. Breakfast was v good with plenty of choice and amounts. Would definitely stay again
Room was very small, cold and very dated. The room was 2nd floor and near the main door which meant you could hear the creaking from the springs in the door everytime it was used. The TV is at least 7 years old and placed horribly, the curtains hid the left quarter of the screen. The radiator in the room didn't seem to work and the bathroom was even colder. I went to reception to ask about upgrading and the lady there was very kind and helpful bit when the manager got involved it was a different story. She was very rude and insulting and a complete opposite to the first lady I spoke to. I would not recommend this "hotel" to anyone and I will definitely not be staying there again.
I stayed over the weekend at this hotel, stuff at reception and bar were really helpful, nothing to say about them but a very different situation with the housekeeping people (they are the ones that have been blamed over the phone), which really concerns me as they are the ones that go inside your bedroom to clean it (if you ask for it) when you are not there, with all your personal posecions - I left early morning on Sunday and I left behind my shampoo and hair mask (expensive) I phoned up straight away to find out that housekeeping didn't find anything?! the shampoo fairy came and took it!! I'm fuming, Never to go back to this hotel again.
The reception and bar staff were great and couldn't have been better. They were the only thing pleasant about the experience. The room was horrible, air con not working during the Sept heatwave and the desk fan supplied just circulated the hot air. Couldn't have the window open, as the room was next to the rubbish bins. Ate in the restaurant the first night. Food wasn't particularly nice so walked to Pizza Hut across the road the 2nd night. The building facade makes it look like a classy 4 star hotel. It's all a facade though, as I wouldn't rate the actual facilities more than 2 stars at best (and only because the staff were good.) I definitely won't be staying again and I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel.
The window in our room was broken (this was not explained to us prior to entering) we opened the handle and before we even attempted to open the window it fell from the brackets, thankfully my partner was able to secure the window back in place. There were numerous marks along the wall and multiple holes in the carpet which is such a shame as we have stayed at the hotel in the past and it’s never been this bad. The towels were not changed once over our three night stay despite mentioning it to the reception staff. This was also the case with the cups in the room, again we mentioned it to the reception staff but nothing was done about it. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that doesn’t replenish the towels at a minimum.
I’ve stayed here on many occasions and always thought I enjoyed my stay, yes it could do better but the staff are normally very friendly and helpful On this occasion however, I stayed a Saturday night the room was booked through Hotel.com in I booked in advance and the last time I booked it was £62 this time same standard double £152 ! Now the room they put me in had no AC Had no wardrobe the corridors were as hot as hell, the room was a small cell it smelt musky and had a crack in the bathroom wash basin. The shoddy way I was dealt with was like it or lump it, this is what you booked !!! I will take this further on principle as I was just thrown in a cupboard I feel this was a staff quarters rehashed as they were so apparently fully booked !! Yet every time I’ve booked a standard double I’ve never been put into this hell please check there pictures as you will never see the cell room I’m describing . I have stayed I. Over 80 countries around the world in some of the most glamorous hotels . This was by far the worst experience of my entire working life please please avoid this happening to you. The lady in charge on the desk was rude. A complete let down .…
On arrival there was a new girl on Reception (black girl) and she told me that the room I had reserved was room only and I knew I had booked a b&b rate. Although she was very pleasant she said she was new and needed to check with a more experienced receptionist. A white lady came into the reception area and was telling me that the new girl didn't know how to check was was included in the room rate and started showing her - how to check for this while I was there. This white lady (had a foreign accent) was quite abrupt to me and I thought to myself, maybe if you trained the new girl better, she would be able to check these details. The new girl was apologizing, I said to her its not your fault, you need to get trained better in your role. She was a beautiful young girl and very friendly and tried to help as much as she could. The kettle in my room was not working but was replaced quite quickly. I went to get some milk from the trolley and the Housekeeper (Spanish) screamed at me - your are not allowed to touch the trollies and if you need anything, please contact Reception, I said shall I leave it back then and she said - No its OK!. Had to advice Reception if one, needed their room cleaned. Breakfast was nice except the mushrooms they were too hard and difficult to eat. Staff tend to move trollies and talk to each other when guests are around and they use the guest lift as a service lift. They got in the way at times when I was trying to get out of the hotel, they apologized for getting in my way. Majority of staff were friendly, rooms need updating. On my last day, I was getting some tea at breakfast time in the dining area and when I returned a staff member (Small Indian lady) was clearing away my food and I had only went to get a cup of tea and had not finished my breakfast, I told her I was still having my breakfast. I was annoyed as my room card was still on the table but she never noticed this and was clearing it away. They spray and clean empty tables very close to you as you eat your breakfast which is frustrating as the smell of the cleaning liquid is quite strong, It was my first time staying at this hotel, however in the past I have had coffee/tea there but never stayed before. I would rate is as a 3 star Hotel and not a 4 star Hotel.…
First visit and we were warmly greeted by Rosie on reception. We were celebrating birthdays so opted for a Prosecco afternoon tea. It was lovely and a nice way to start our 2 day break. Our room was spacious with a bath and shower. A special mention to Sophie who sorted out our air conditioning. The room had plenty of towels, tea coffee, large tv and comfortable twin beds. Aliso a huge thanks to Rosie who went the extra mile about our travel from the hotel to Wimbledon. She was so so helpful and friendly. The restaurant and food was very nice. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. I was also really impressed with the breakfast. Everything was buffet style, but there was a great choice. All in all this is a great choice of hotel with a bus stop within a short walking distance. The 119 takes approx 20 / 25 minutes to East Croydon. I will demurely return without hesitation. Well done!…
Stayed as we was at a Birthday Party the night before. Check in was slightly slow as the cleaning team hadn't readied all of the rooms in time. This was fine as we sat in the bar area anyway. We was offered our parking for free instead, others were offered a complimentary drink or reduced breakfast. For the parties, there seemed to be a lack of bar staff considering there was 2 parties going on at the same time. The bar staff themselves were efficient but it led to queues during the night at different times. The room was perfect, no issues except a struggle to get cold water from the tap. Free water in the fridge was a nice touch. Breakfast is excellent quality, but again the issue was a lack of staff. One member of staff managing seating, taking queries, managing the bar and also plating up room service breakfasts doesn't seem enough, especially when there are a lot of guests there at the same time. it caused the food to run out at times. The staff themselves were excellent and all were happy and courteous despite seemingly being rushed off their feet.…
Breakfast was amazing. All fresh with a great selection. Room was lovely, decent shower. Plenty of wardrobe space, iron and Hairdryer decent. Hotel was clean, tidy and nicely decorated. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy, fiver for the night. I would well recommend and we shall definitely be staying there again
