Excellent place to stay. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. The accommodation is very comfortable and very clean, with the option to use a kitchen if you wanted to cook. There is Continental breakfast available just help yourself and multiple shared bathroom's facilities. Would definitely recommend and use again, top service x

Abacus is a very clean, comfortable, modern guest house with excellent facilities, including a great self-catering kitchen. Conveniently located just off the A30 and close to the M3 and other motorways, but in a very quiet area down a back laneway. Be aware that it's largely a self-service place — staff will arrange to be there to check you in,...

Thank you for your positive comments. However, please may we clarify that Abacus is not mainly self-service and guests are not left ‘on their own’. We visit the communal areas regularly throughout the day to maintain our high standards, as reflected in our review score. However, we do try to keep a low profile as it is considered that guests...

We stayed two nights for a family gathering. It was our first time here. Excellent place. Really friendly owners and accommodation very clean. Jane stayed up late waiting for us on the first night. She also allowed us a late checkout. Upstair rooms are small but clean, tidy, comfortable and well equipped with a fridge. They include drinks, a tv...

Found online, first time staying here. easy to find, given the location very peaceful even for someone used to sleeping in a rural cottage, no noise from outside. Room comfortable, shared facilities was no problem, lots of hot water, use of a shared kitchen, and ideally located for the exhibition i was at the next day. Only one minor bad...

I stayed at Abacus for 2 nights. I had a pleasant stay. The place was clean and tidy. The person who greeted me was friendly and professional. The room and bathroom was smaller but very modern, usable and functional. I had a good sleep. Overall, I will be staying there in future.

My family stayed here overnight as we had to be at an event nearby early the next morning. The owner was very helpful and accommodating of our late arrival, which I had contacted her about prior to booking. The entire B&B was immaculately clean and well equipped.

Staying in the area for a wedding and Abacus B&B was exactly what we needed. The owner was very helpful when I phoned mid morning to ask to check in early and allowed us to let ourselves in. This was really helpful and much appreciated. Breakfast was perfect for us - no fuss cereal and coffee help yourself. For the...
