Have stayed in a lot of Days Inn but the one on M6 Stafford southbound was disappointing. The bed was uncomfortable and at 8am there was no hot water and reception was closed. The water was hot as we were leaving at 9.30am!

I have stayed here before and knew the hotel wasn’t great but it was the only place available on the night I needed it. On arrival, the hotel smells old and rotten, the room I was given was filthy with cobwebs on the walls. It was next to a utilities cupboard which sounded like

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that we disappointed you and failed to meet your expectations. On the night you stayed with us, the hotel was full of dogs and unfortunately it does lead to an overpowering smell that we try very hard to shift - when the dogs outnumber the guests this can be tough to achieve during their stay. It is also unfortunate that not all dog owners are considerate with regard to where they let their dogs pee and then either cleaning it up or letting a member of staff know. The noise you mentioned was a refrigerated lorry with its generator running all night. Unfortunately the driver refused to move when he was asked (he was on a mandated rest break, governed by law. we have no authority to move him elsewhere.) There is no excuse for the issues you found with your room, we should be doing better. I hope that we are able to show a considerable improvement if you stay with us again.

Clean comfortable and affordable when on a tight travel budget. ‘Days Inn’ was much better accommodation than many of the overpriced B&B’s we stayed in on our UK holiday. It was roomy whereas many of the B&B’s in which we stayed were small cramped rooms with share bathrooms.

is access only from M6(S) or can you be reached from local roads?
Yes, even staff have to use M6 S to access it. Tough if they live in Stafford as they have to come to Stoke and head S again!
