Recently Refurbished, beautiful decor, very welcoming and pleasant staff. The menu offers a wide choice of food, we had an excellent lunch - highly recommend a visit. We have booked for Xmas meal in December.

Although a vast sum has obviously been recently invested here by the new owners - as demonstrated by the lavishly furnished stable annex rooms and large, retro "naked filament" lamp fittings dotted around the restaurant area, my overall experience was marred a bit by a number of irritating small issues, most of which could easily be resolved with a little...

We visited the Wheatsheaf on an overnight stop while travelling back to our base. We knew the pub of old and had booked a room in advance. The Wheatsheaf has recently been taken over by new owners based near Chester and has undergone a major refurbishment. We stayed in the newly completed stable rooms which are separate from the pub...

Expecting the buffet which was always extremely good. Had the prawn cocktail with soggy limp lettice. Followed this with roast lamb which had a desert spoon of cauliflower a large carrot and a plate full of peas. The three roast potatoes were soft and soggy and I think part of the meal was microwave reheated. The prices have gone through...

Visited for lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the way the place has been updated and modernised. The staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming, the real ale was good as were our lunches. We would certainly come again.

Excellent from start to finish. Front of house staff greeted us as soon as we walked in (Craig), very welcoming. Ambience was superb, Food excellent & service second to none. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Wheatsheaf! Please also visit sister pub 'the Cock O Barton' near Broxton, Cheshire... you won't be disappointed!

Visited as a family for Sunday lunch. The new decor is lovely. I had the roast beef and it was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals. Staff were friendly and helpful. The play area and beer garden is good for families in the summer. We will definitely be returning to try the evening meal menu.

My wife and I took my mother for a meal Thursday evening. The place had just opened following a refurbishment and I must admit we were impressed with the improvements. It's all looks extremely nice, well spaced out and very comfortable. The food was well cooked, presented and very tasteful. All the staff were really pleasant and helpful. Well worth...
