Last dined here about 23 years ago and it was fab - very grand and felt pampered. Today's lunch was completely underwhelming. It was a Groupon 4 course "taster menu" apparently. It was actually a cheap Table D'Hote lunch with hardly any choice, the starter of "pork terrine in pastry" was actually pork pie!!! For goodness sake! The place is... More

My husband and I attended for lunch. The venue was superb with beautiful grounds. The food was excellent with coffee served outside in the gardens on request. The service was good. Definitely value for money. I have been to similar and this was by far the best.

Spent a couple of very pleasant hours at Dovecliff Hall Hotel having afternoon tea. The tea was served in the Conservatory a beautiful light sunny room. Service was good when we arrived but waitress did not return after tea was served, so we could not order more drinks. Food was good especially the scone which tasted fresh baked. The fruit... More

I went to Dovecliff Hall for the £8.50 afternoon tea. It is not the most expensive option and certainly a lot cheaper than some other establishments reasonably close by, so I was a little unsure as to what the quality would be like. I was pleasantly surprised with what I had. Positives The finger sandwiches were small but the bread... More

It's been a while since we last visited the Dovecliffe for a meal so thought purchasing a Groupon four course lunch tasting menu would be an ideal way to sample what is currently on offer. Sadly we left feeling quite disappointed. The pork terrine wrapped in pastry was in fact a slab of pork pie. I agree with a previous... More

We got married at this beautiful venue and everything was superb on the day. I stayed the night before with my best friend and parents and we ate dinner at the hotel, which was delicious. On the day itself everything went smoothly. I had people coming to do hair and make up at 7am so we asked for bacon and... More

Took mum for her birthday. No choice of sandwiches, the filling was decided by the chef. Served in rolls rather than finger sandwiches. Buck's Fizz was 80% orange juice. Tea was served in quite a beaten up tea pot too. Scones were very light but no choice as to whether fruit or plain. Surroundings were good. At the end glad... More

Went for wedding day - Food very good and overall experience good. Downside drinks very expensive, and on a very hot day there was not enough seating and umbrellas to actor for the party!! Another small gripe was that the fountain feeding the rear pond was green and really stank!

Dovecliff is a stunning venue and a perfect setting for our wedding last Sunday 7th August 2016. The bridal suite is beautiful. All our wedding guests thought Dovecliff was beautiful. I would definitely recommend Dovecliff for your wedding.
