Room for three in the main hotel area - yes dated, but I'd go as far to say quaint. Owners really nice and happy to talk. We had an evening meal which was quite pricey but well cooked. The draft blue moon beer was well kept and wonderfully chilled. Again a bit pricey but worth it. Ordered puddings after the... More

Firstly, if you want a cheap place to stay that is close to Alton towers then this is an option. The staff were friendly but I am afraid that is the only positives. The rooms were clean but did have a lot of cobwebs on the ceiling. Very dated but for what we paid we didn't expect luxury. The dinner... More

I'm careful before I book and therefore took time to read reviews - really positive so I went ahead. How disappointed I was when we arrived. We booked a family room, one double and bunk beds for the kids, and were shown to a purpose built property at the rear of the pub. We were taken past a rusty pile... More

We stayed here while visiting alton towers, the owners are very nice people, they serve food and have a nice cosy bar downstairs. Close to other villages that have bowling and arcades and shops great to kill time on a night. Room could be looked after a bit better they are falling apart a bit but tend to be clean.

Was in a great location for Alton towers but very much in need of some tlc. My kids were tired so we almost went straight to sleep after dinner but even they were commenting in the morning about the spiders webs in the room and how the bathroom needed a bit of fixing. Was a bit pricey for what it... More

We are a family of 3, booked very last minute for a 2 night stay. Very late check in @ 10pm, called ahead to make them aware and no problems with this. We were given a chalet, double bed, single bed plus a set of bunk beds, full sized bathroom with over head shower. Small TV on the wall, kettle... More

Me and three friends stayed here when we got a two day pass to Alton towers, it's so handy as the rooms are clean and spacious the landlady is friendly and her home cooked food was delicious. Really reasonably priced. TV in each room. Showers were hot in my room but the other room we had was a little dated... More

We went for a family meal it looked lovely from the outside. However the service was beyond slow and the meals were ok. The chips were obviously frozen and not cooked properly. My meal was cold. Im guessing because it was kept back as they had to cook to of the five meals because they were given to another table.... More
