We happened to drive through Porlock by chance & discovered this scenic town by the sea side. So we decided to stay the night at The Castle. The room was newly refurbished, very modern & clean. I can only recommend staying there. The breakfast and dinner was great as well & the staff are all very welcoming and kind.

Loved this place. Great price for and lovely atmosphere. Staff are extremely friendly and the food is amazing. Located in a beautiful little village with wonderful views and the rooms are large and cosy. Will be going again no doubt. Enjoyed our stay.

On arrival a lovely friendly greeting, very quick check in, taken to our room which exceeded our expectations, lovely fresh clean room and bathroom, a very comfortable bed, quiet and perfect for unwinding. Very nice cosy bar and restaurant, food was fine, breakfast very good, again service in the bar, restaurant and at breakfast very good, will certainly stay here again.

Came here with family on a Sunday for dinner. Again, quite a few of us so had to pre order our food. The menu selection was great and it was hard to make a decision! But...the food wasn't that great. The nachos were cold and all stuck together. I had the chicken and ribs combo, the chicken was so tiny... More

We’d had a drink in The Castle a couple of times and had liked its cosy and friendly atmosphere, we’d also browsed the menu so on our last evening in Porlock we decided to eat there. The barman was very helpful in suggesting an alternative wine when our first choice wasn’t available and he continued to be friendly and provide... More

Good food and relaxing atmosphere... A notch up from the usual pub. The interior was thoughtfully decorated with tables and comfy seating. Food was well cooked and presented: staff friendly and helpful . The mixed grill was particularly good value.

I booked a last minute room as my mum's house in the village was overflowing. Was given a double room in the attic which served its purpose. Decor is pleasantly neutral, though the fittings and furnishings were very bargain basement. Nice if restricted view out of the large velux window. For £70 it was ok. On the basis of this... More
