Having gone here a few times for both business and social this beautiful boutique hotel has never disappointed. Be it the friendly welcome, the spotless rooms or the truly amazing food (the kiln smoked salmon for breakfast was to die for), this hotel is a great place to stay. Thanks for the attention to detail and the excellent customer service.

We stayed here for one night to attend a local wedding. The Hotel could not have been more perfect. Everyone was so helpful, the accommodation immaculate- lovely crisp linen, fluffy towels, on tap tea and coffee. Excellent breakfast too.

My mother, daughter and I enjoyed a delicious lunch on Easter Sunday. The restaurant has a lovely calm atmosphere and the food was excellent. The chocolate and hazelnut torte with salted caramel ice cream was wonderful! Staff were friendly and attentive.

Nothing was too much trouble for the delightful owners of this charming hotel. They greeted us and our “woofy” with complimentary afternoon tea and gave us a free upgrade to a larger room because it was a quiet weekend. The accommodation was clean, well decorated and very comfortable. The inn dates back centuries and the beams and fireplaces are stunning. The garden boasts four acres, so there is plenty of space to walk the dog, although the Quantock Hills are literally next door if you want to explore further. Breakfasts were waitress served, no fend for yourself here, with a selection of juices and cereals followed by traditional and more imaginative cooked breakfast. The poached eggs on a muffin with Parma ham and hollandaise sauce was a winner, as was the full English. The restaurant serves excellent evening meals, with a good choice for each course, beautifully cooked and presented. We are looking forward to our return trip to this historic hotel in June.

Picked this hotel because of its Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The welcome we received from Carol and all her staff was wonderful. The food was excellent, hotel spotless and very comfortable. We would recommend if you want a warm, relaxing break. We will definitely visit again.
