Having visited The Bower Inn for a drink and enjoyed a meal midweek in the past we decided to book for Sunday lunch. We thought that it was very good that as well as the usual roast there were other items on the menu. We both chose the roast myself beef and my husband had both beef and pork which...

Not easy to find and staff weren't obvious at any time.Room nice with good bathroom but 4 poster bed was hard and difficult with wooden surround. In middle of housing estate where satnav directs you.Stayed on bed and breakfast terms and booked dinner which was a mistake.Sunday night roast was overcooked and roast potatoes hard.

I am really sorry that the evening meal was not up to our usual standards. With regards to your accommodation, room 6 is one of our "disabled friendly" rooms with walk-in wet room, discreet grab rails and wide doorways. It also boasts a gorgeous four poster bed. However, taking on board your remarks, other rooms on our ground floor would...

Although it does not have 100s of years history behind it, it looks the part and is a really cosy pub, with excellent food, nice rooms and best of all a very friendly staff. even if you arrive late, after the kitchen is closed they are ready to rustle up some nice food.

Thanks for the great review. Parts of the building are in fact over 200 years old. However, as The Bower Inn started it's long life as a farmhouse, the history behind it is less apparent than some old fashioned Coaching Houses. That said, we believe this back ground gives us a unique feel and adds to the "home from home"...

Really lovely pub. Quite a few solo diners, looked like they may have been staying in hotel. Saw a sign stating they had won an award from a daytime television programme. Varied menu, well seasoned, well cooked, good value, large portions. Pleasant, efficient staff. Stayed for a few drinks in main pub after meal due to welcoming locals and relaxed...

Many thanks for the review. We appeared on 4 in a Bed some years ago - constantly repeated by Channel 4!! We were very proud to win the Sedgemoor Small Business Award last year as well. Thanks again for the comments and hope you get a chance to return. Kind regards. Peter

Nicely situated in a quiet spot but only 5 minutes from Bridgewater Station. Very pleasant and attentive staff, a couple of good ales and I enjoyed my supper - the Venison was superb, the meat obviously well sourced and beautifully cooked (by a young 22 year old chef, who obviously knows what he is doing!!) My bedroom was very comfortable...

Had a nice family meal here, staff were friendly, food and drink were both excellent. I ate a really nice lamb rump, with mash, veg and gravy, everyone else had the Bacon steak special. Both dishes were lovely. Deserts were also generous and really lovely.

We stayed here for a stop over on our way to Cornwall and we were so delighted with the place I had to write a review. We had an excellent meal followed by a very comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was equally good. The most important was the staff from reception to the bar/restaurant who were so friendly and helpful. I...

The Inn was very well recommended for dining, we decided to stay overnight to fully appreciate the dining experience, unfortunately my meal was very poor, supposed to be roast beef, but was totally bland with poorly cooked vegetables, breakfast was not much better. Shame because the reception and service and attention from staff was excellent, however I could not recommend...

I am really sorry that the food offer when you stayed did not live up to expectations. We have worked hard for our reputation for good food - but we are only as good as our last meal. Rest assured - your comments have been discussed at length and all efforts will be taken to ensure consistent high quality restaurant...

Welcoming and excellent food. Staff very kind and helpful. Nice garden. Allow well behaved dogs in reception bar and can also eat in this area. Nice decor and good facilities. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be returning.

This small hotel is one of the best value for money properties I have ever stayed in. The rooms are clean comfortable with fluffy bedding and pillows. Tea coffee biscuits, soft towels and decent bath potions and amenities. Free wifi, parking and one of the best restaurants in the area. I had the Lamb Rump on mash with green vegetables...
