Spent one night at the Old Vicarage. Central location in Bridgwater. On arrival the place looks closed up - access is around the back. The reception area is not very welcoming nor was the greeting from the receptionist himself. All looks tired and tatty. The room we were given was in a separate building and not very encouraging. Room itself... More

Single traveller, spent 1 night in an annex room. Double room, nice en suite - everything clean and in good order. Breakfast selection very good. Staff business-like and efficient. Very comfortable bed. Would use again. Couple of small quibbles - hard to spot notice to find entrance and could do with a bigger tv in room as couldn't see picture... More

Slightly odd review this as we never visited the hotel. Instead we were called by Booking.com to tell us, ten minutes before we arrived at the venue and late in the day, that the hotel had overbooked and couldn't give us a room. To leave us with nowhere to go on the eve of Glastonbury with absolutely no warning was... More

I have never known such a dirty rundown hotel. I booked a superior double room, how dissapointed was i. From the outside the hotel looks derelict. We were given a room overlooking the church. The noise was horrendous until 3-4 am from people leaving the nearby weatherspoons, drunk and shouting. Our room had mish mash furniture, big holes and tears... More

I don't usually do reviews but I feel I have to review this hotel !!!! The bed was so uncomfortable I did not get any sleep at all, there was dirt and dust around the flooring in my room. The curtain at the back of the room has an interesting view of a load of people's washing and also random... More

We stayed here for 2 nights from 10th June to 12th June. Our room was a reasonable size and clean but we did pay £94 per night for a superior room. However, there were several minor things I might have overlooked if staying at a cheaper hotel but which I find unacceptable at this price. Firstly, the net curtain was... More

Excellent location opposite the church and round the corner from town centre. We were very well looked after and our room was delightful and excellently priced. Breakfast was plentiful and well laid out, with a full English if required. I would definitely recommend a visit. Justin was a great host and the whole experience was fab

Very enjoyed being here! Lovely bedrooms and clean spaces. Verity of different drinks available at the bar and the food is lovely too. Staff are very friendly and happy to help with any needs. Beautiful garden space. A beautiful place to relax and unwind!

The Old Vicarage is a decent "no frills" coaching house, in a brilliant location, right in the city center. A generous breakfast (but avoid the microwaved scrambled eggs). The room I've had is quiet, clean and spacious, if a bit frayed around the edges, but great value considering the location. Entrance to the car park can be tricky for big... More
