Wanted to stay somewhere for two nights just to relax and have a look around the area. It is very close to the motorway but the windows when shut do keep the noise out. Our room was clean and fresh and had a shower room which was compact but we didn't need more. The food in the evening was good... More

Have stopped here many times on way to and back from cornwall. This is a spacious pub just off M5 situated on river bank. Staff are always very welcoming and wide variety of food available. Food is of excellent standard. Would recommend this pub to anyone travelling to cornwall instead of usual services.

Thought we would try this place as years ago it was superb, But NOT now. When we walked in there were only a handful of people there, The lady serving behind the bar seemed quite pleasant, The menu seemed ok, thats as far as it got. Starter of prawn cocktail was shocking, hardly any sauce which tasted very vinegary, obviously... More

My sister and I said that we would treat the kids to a pub lunch after a long cycle ride.. We had been cycling for well over 2.5 hours and my youngest is five, so when we saw the boat an anchor pub the kids were very excited.. The boys ran in through an OPEN door to the pub, to... More

Stated to look for places to stop that are just off the motorway network have seen this one many times - well worth the stop food freshly cooked And a relaxed atmosphere to break up the journey now in the SatNav for future trips. Nice little walks along the camel to stretch your legs

After a walk along the canal this looks and excellent place to stop but they definitely are not a dog friendly pub. We were told we could not sit in the garden with the dogs and had to go to another area, which was just a rought pice of ground with some tables and benches and builders fencing. No view... More

The adverts look like it could actually be a very nice place to stay. It's okay, but certainly nothing special. Beers not great. Food menu looks really good, but in actual fact it's far from it. Very very average or below food. Homemade burger and chips was pretty poor to say at the least. Chips partially cooked and greasy. Burger... More

We had a room in the main building and the young lady carried the case up the stairs. The room was clean the bathroom refurbished with a great walk in shower. Our meal in the restaurant was freshly cooked and well presented and the breakfast set us up for the day. The staff were all pleasant and helpful.

I have to say when looking across from the road we initially though 'oh' from the painted B&B on the roof. However on arrival we realised what a lovely waterside location this place was, with a large car park and very traditional British pub area that you walk into. The bar staff then also check you in which is very... More
