Hotel was a great find in a secluded quiet location set in well maintained grounds. Very helpful and attentive staff. Family room was spacious with a large en-suite bathroom. Excellent evening meal and high quality cooked breakfast. Really outstanding value.

The new menu is amazing! Definitely one to go and try. We’ve been regulars of Haughton Hall for years now and are always so impressed with the lovely staff and the great food. Special mention to Tracy and Adam (the chef). Went back earlier today for a massage at the leisure centre and it was fantastic - Helen is absolutely amazing at what she does! X

I visited to have an early afternoon meal, the staff were very polite on entry and we were seated in the bar area which was a nice place to be. I ordered tapas off I believe is the new menu and it was very good food! The wait for the food was good and I was very impressed when it arrived. I would highly recommend for food and for an overnight visit as you have everything you need at Haughton Hall.

This is a bit of a mixed review. We had a red letter voucher for our night away. If I had payed full price I would have been a bit disappointed. First I must say that the staff were very good and the food was good however I can’t say the same for the the actual hotel. It is and old building with a 70s add on block . We were first given a room in the 70s block . The room was small and had a very strong musty smell to it . The whole building needs a major refurbishment. We upgraded for an extra £20 to room 27 in the main building. It was a very large room with a four poster bed ( which was very comfortable) . It was a bit of an improvement but not much . This hotel needs a big injection of cash to sort it . Well done to the staff who must have to put up with a lot of complaints . Will I be back , No , not without checking Trip advisor first .

Just had a 1 night stop with a red letter day deal. Started with the morning in the spa with a very pleasant back massage, swim and daughter even used the sauna, all perfectly fine. The afternoon tea was good and very filling, lots for all tastes, all served by attentive and friendly staff. Our room was ready at 2pm, and we were given as requested a quiet twin room. Dear oh dear. I was ready for the dated room as per all the other trip advisor reviews but a mattress where I could feel every coil/ spring and then offered no support that I actually felt the divan base when sitting on it was totally unacceptable ( I am under 9 stone! ). Called reception to ask for a actress topper but was offered a change of room . This was much better, only dodgy thing in that room was the mouldy shower curtain, so we kept our distance from that !! Evening meal was very tasty, we had the braised beef and gnocchi as our mains, well presented too. Breakfast could not fault again with lots of choice, some healthy and some not so... but hey we were on a treat weekend. Yet again the staff were friendly and worked hard, had they even go home to sleep? So the rooms were the only let down, really in dire need of a change. This seems to be agreed by many guests, though the owners never seem to reply to any of the negative comments do they even care. Because of this we would not use the hotel rooms again, but may visit for a meal. Thanks to all the staff involved in our stay.
