Dinner in the evening was without a doubt the best meal I've ever eaten. The steak was sublime. And we had 4 courses for 2 of us for around fifty quid because we booked with the room. Bargain! Cream tea in the garden on arrival was beautiful. The room itself was well appointed, very comfortable, and with a lovely view... More

Arrived to a beautiful setting and a fabulous room. Were really looking forward to dinner and were not disappointed by the quality of the food. Sadly, however the poor interpersonal engagement from the waiting staff, the lack of atmosphere and the way we were rushed through our dinner meant our stay has been a real disappointment. We booked to eat... More

Just returned from a lovely stay here. The setting is beautiful, lovely views of the Welsh countryside. Weather was not great but did not affect our enjoyment of the stay. Owners and staff very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about what to do locally. Detailed walk information very helpful. Food is amazing in the hotel and all tastes and preferences are... More

We stayed in Upper Court which was beautifully decorated with its own patio adorned with cottage garden flowers. Spent most mornings with a pot of coffee relaxing on the sun terrace enjoying the tranquililty (apart from a watchful heron!) and fabulous views of surrounding countryside. Superb cuisine - 5* chef and unobtrusive service made this a truly memorable restorative stay.... More

We had a very enjoyable 3 nights and were looked after well by the Manager and his Staff, nothing was too much trouble. The food was equally as good, very delicious, the menu being changed daily. We were in the Terrace Room, large enough for a few days. We liked the fact that you could enter the garden from the French... More

This family-run hotel was recommended by friends and it is as perfect as they said. It's set in glorious gardens on the beautiful Welsh border, the owners and their staff could not have been more friendly and obliging, but our overriding memory is of the food which is prepared by a team of top class chefs to the highest culinary... My wife and I have just stayed at the hotel for what can only be described as a perfect weekend. The hotel room was clean and comfortable with beautiful views over the countryside, the staff were very accommodating in every way and nothing was too much trouble and the food was excellent! All in all I can certainly recommend it... More

My husband surprised me with this break for my 50th...as it seemed to be a perfect stop-over en route from family back to Liverpool, how right he was. We had the Champagne room, which has a double jacuzzi (wonderful & relaxing) and were staying for dinner bed and breakfast, with the complimentary tea and scones on arrival. Yes - you... More
