Everything you read about this superb little b&b is true. From its quaint setting and the quality of the accommodation to the attentiveness (but never overbearing) of the hosts. Gillian and John are experienced and it shows. The quality and cleanliness of the rooms/furnishings demonstrates this perfectly. I would recommend this place to anyone wishing to explore this beautiful part...

Gillian and John were the perfect hosts, looking after us from start to finish. The room was exceptional, very comfortable and with every added extra you could think of. The bathroom was perfect for a luxurious soak in the bath. Gillian and John went out of their way to look after us, picking us up from nearby Castle Howard, offering...

We could not have been more impressed with Lime Kiln House, arriving to a warm welcome on a damp afternoon with the fire crackling away in the sitting room & Gillian offering tea or coffee. The bedrooms were large but cosy, both with ensuites which were clean & modern, the one which had a bath was a huge room. But...

If it's a secluded, tranquil setting that you want, but still close to York, as well as having Castle Howard on your doorstep, you must try this B&B. The best breakfast I've ever had at a B&B, simply out of this world. The hosts were attentive, but still discreet. Everything about it is just top class. As there are just...

Lime Kiln House is situated right next to Castle Howard which is well worth a visit. It is also not too far a drive to a Park and Ride to take you into the centre of York. An excellent Bird of Prey centre in Huby is near and plenty of gardens etc to visit. The location is perfect for visiting...

Our first visit to Lime Kiln House B&B but we wished we had booked for longer. A super room, really comfortable kingsize bed and luxury ensuite. The view from the bedroom was magic. Gillian and John made us feel very welcome and we had a very pleasant breakfast.
