#5 of 19 B&Bs / Inns in Witney
We welcome you to Gorselands Hall – home to three generations of our family. Young and old are equally welcome. Does your family include children or a dog? No problem! Please enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this country home from home. Whether you are looking for a restful environment in which to have an unhurried holiday; a chance to explore the historic city of Oxford or the tranquil countryside of the Cotswolds; or need a one night stop between business appointments, Gorselands Hall is the B&B for you. Unwind after your journey with a pot of tea and a slice of homemade cake – either in your room, or in the snug with books to browse and, in winter, a cosy fire. The rooms are comfortable with drinks making facilities, flat screen TVs, hairdryers and power showers in the en-suite bathrooms. We don't offer evening meals but we are happy to recommend some excellent local restaurants, all within 10 minutes drive. In endeavouring to run an excellent B&B, we are mindful of what a wise man once said. 'Treat others as you would like to be treated'. We can't think of a better ambition for a B&B to have. We hope you enjoy your stay.

We stayed here for two nights with our daughter and two dogs. My husband chose the property because it said “Pets and children? No problem! All are welcome” in the description. I didn’t really feel this was the case for our stay. Maybe ‘pets tolerated’ would be more accurate. Gorselands is a beautiful home and the breakfast was amazing but the dogs really were an issue. They weren’t allowed to make any noise as it might disturb other guests and they weren’t allowed to sit under the table at breakfast because other guests might not like dogs. We were asked to shut the dogs in our car for breakfast so no-one would hear them. I wasn’t prepared to do this so my husband and I took turns to eat breakfast separately and took turns to look after the dogs. Our dogs do bark a little when they see new people and our Bassett hound is nervous but despite my getting quite a complex that our dogs must be awful, we had some fantastic meals at several different dog friendly pubs where the staff all gave them big cuddles and the chef came out of the kitchen to give them a sausage each! And the dogs went to sleep quiet and contented by the table as we ate our meals. If I were to visit Gorselands again it would definitely be without dogs! I must say I sighed a huge sigh of relief when we left and felt i was no longer being monitored and I could at last relax.

We spent a few days at Gorselands Hall in early October. It was a pleasant stay. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, James even rescued us when we had a flat battery in Hanborough. The room was quite small, but nicely furnished and breakfast was great.

We traveled with our family to London but we opted to go into the English countryside for a few days. Located on the outskirts of Oxford, we found this place to be exactly what we were hoping for. After a day of traveling we received a very warm greeting from James. Barry provided excellent point of interest close to the residence. We loved the area and to be honest, Lisa, James and Barry made us feel like family. I strongly recommend Gorselands Hall B&B for your getaway in the country. We will definitely plan another trip in the near future to spend time here with the Smiths at their beautiful bed and breakfast
