Had a 4 night stay in the family room. Breakfast was an extensive menu - all good! Had 1 meal at the blue boar - pizza cooked in their pizza oven. Authentic and good quality. Room was on the top floor - clean and comfortable. No parking at the blue boar which resulted in 1 parking ticket at the waitrose car park. Good gastro pub with helpful and friendly staff - would recommend. Thank you blue boar.

We have been here a few times for dinner and we are always impressed with the food. However this time we were particularly impressed with one particular member of the staff Ellie. She was very friendly and pleasant and made us feel very much at ease during these difficult times. Nothing was too much trouble despite me requesting 2 amendments to my meal. We will definitely be coming again and well done to all the members of staff you are all doing a fantastic job during a difficult time.

Had a meal in the Blue Boar last night. We were seated in the bar area, which had a lovely atmosphere and allowed us to have a relaxed evening meal. Our server, Ellie was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Was very knowledgeable about the wines on offer, and in the end we went with her suggestion of the New Zealand Sauvingon, which was delicious. I had the crab pasta and a sticky toffee pudding which were both to die for, compliments to the kitchen team for making such gorgeous food! A bonus was that they are still offering the eat out to help out discount, which took £30 off our bill, but I would 100% pay full price. Will be returning soon!

Booked in for 3 nights. Staff were attentive and the room itself was clean warm and comfortable. Annoying thing was the they only activate keys for 1 night at a time but don't tell you that. Everyday when we returned to the hotel we couldn't get into our room and had to negoataite 3 floors of stairs to get reactivate the card. The drink and food was rather expensive. Breakfast was quite disgusting and drenched in grease. The menu was quite limited and basic for evening meals and not really worth the money we paid. Only had one evening meal as we found better quality and prices elsewhere in the town. The stairs case up to the rooms looked tired and worn and could probably do with new carpets and a lick of paint. Also dont expect tp park anywhere near the place. Parking restrictions everywherfe and enforcement officer a right little Hitler

Grace. She made us feel very welcome with a lovely smile and good morning. The service she gave was excellent. Clearly wanted to make our stay a good experience. Could not ask for more. Excellent value. The half price deal until the end of October very attractive. But do not forget your voucher! Will certainly come back.
