We found out about this place from the local tourist information website having just moved to the area. Based in Abingdon the Court Hill Centre is about 30 minutes drive towards the town of Wantage. The Ridgeway is 87 miles of path across the Berkshire downs. It just so happens that the Court Hill Centre is the perfect place to... More

we stopped off here for a light lunch whilst dog walking, its a lovely tea room serving hot food, sandwiches, cakes and drinks, we had jacket potatoes, cooked fresh and served with a salad, it was really good and was served quickly with great friendly service, surroundings are really great, with maps and histories posted on the walls of the... I have visited the Court Hill Centre Cafe several items recently and had very good coffee, lunches and afternoon tea.The choice of cakes makes it difficult to choose but all are delicious. It is particularly nice on a sunny afternoon when you can sit out in the garden, however on cold winter days there is a wood burner regularly stoked... More

We picked up a leaflet at the Wantage tourist board and it looked good. We were not disappointed. It is a hostel for walkers etc. but they have a lovely little café. We had a cake, scone and coffee, all very reasonably priced and good quality. We sat outside and it was lovely and peaceful. We had a short walk... More

I arrived soaked after a hard day on the Ridgeway and was instantly given tea and a key to a nice room with a heater. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The fire was put on and I was given a lovely meal of fish and chips, plus a tasty breakfast in the morning. This place... More

Stayed on a Sat night at the Centre, walked straight there from the Ridgeway walking trail. Hostel has a spectacular view and a really pretty garden to sit in. Keith, at the centre, made everything very easy and was very welcoming. Had a lovely fish and chip supper ready for us within about 30 mins of us arriving and a... More

If you ever have the chance to come here to eat outdoors in their the court yard surrounded by the old barns from which it is built be sure to take take it. Surrounded by rebuilt barns there is an attractive and sheltered garden where you can sit to enjoy the flocks of swallows swoop around darting in from time... More

Set on a hill, this hostel commands lovely view towards Wantage and Oxford. We have not stayed at many hostels like this but this was better than others. The individual bedrooms were adequate, cleanish and with reasonable conformable bunk beds, The main living area again was fine as was the kitchen, though it was not very well equipped, and very... Thank you for the review, we do hope you visit the centre again, our new self-catering kitchen was installed about 3 weeks after your group stayed. At the moment the centre is looking its best in the lovely sunshine. More

We have called in to the café at the Court Hill Centre on a couple of occasions for a coffee and a cake. The location is superb with amazing views across the Vale. We have enjoyed sitting inside near the log burner on a cold day and in the courtyard garden on a warm, sunny day. A mug of coffee... More

We stayed at the Court Hill Centre and we all had a great time. The rooms had fresh clean bedding and being able to self cater in a very well equipped kitchen plus the staff had loads of goods walks that we could do. This is very much a youth hostel that is used to school children, so in term... More
