Our first visit was very enjoyable for all five of us. THIS TIME! what a disaster! Small choice on menu so we both chose pork with a sauce. We asked waitress what vegetables were available and she replied "green". I asked which and she replied "broccoli and green beans". I told her I don't want beans and did they have... More

We stayed for one night in The Ferryman's Cottage which only has three B&B rooms. The room was large and well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. Large bathroom en-suite. Very quiet and very tranquil. We ate in the Boathouse and the food was superb. A wide choice and all made with fresh, mainly local, produce. Service was excellent and... More

We had our ruby wedding celebration (and my 70th Birthday) 11 days ago. There were 18 of us. There was a wide choice on the menu and, despite our numbers, all courses came at exactly the same time and it was all hot!! We were met by the manager who greeted all of our guests and the staff were fantastic.... More

A really lovely place surrounded by nature, sophisticated design and divine food. I went there for a meal with family and have to admit the food was really good, it served a true french cusine, as well as the place itself is welcoming. Staff are also friendly and overall I enjoyed my family hang out. It was a bit pricey... More

We've been here a few times over the summer and always had friendly, efficient service and delicious food. It really is an idyllic spot - you could almost believe you were in the south of France or somewhere on continental Europe. Lovely.

Had a fantastic birthday dinner here last night. I was taken as a surprise, as I had wanted to visit since moving to the area. I wasn't disappointed. Staff were brilliantly professional, very helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Food was excellent, setting is beautiful and gives a feeling of an exclusive dining experience without being pretentious. We will return... More

We arrived by boat at thr Boathouse, which one thought would have been a good start. As we had paddled our kayak 6.5 miles, we were both quite damp and rather tired. My first attempt to ask about lunch was met with a very curt and unapologetic response that they were fully booked for lunch, despite seversl tabes outside that... More

The best place to be on a warm Summers evening!! We sat outside, by the river, looking through the menu with a bottle of lovely red wine. Peaceful & relaxed. Perfect. We ordered our food & were shown to a great table beside a window to eat the tastiest food. It's not the biggest of menus but all our choices... More

The setting for this establishment is quite stunning and is well worth a visit if only for a drink or two. However, the spacious dinning room overlooking the Thames is well worth a visit even if the menu is somewhat restricted. That said the food is quite varied and very tasty and it is obvious that a lot of care... More

Lovely food, thou the menu is a tad small. Gorgeous setting. Lovely and warm due the steaks etc being cooked on the open grill downstairs. Food is a nice amount especially the desserts. Its a tad pricey, but i guess thats the norm for the settting in leafy oxon.

Thank you for your comments, I am sorry you found our menu small & expensive, we do offer a very reasonable set menu Monday - Thursday, £15 for 2 courses, £19.50 for three courses. We do also like to think we are very reasonably priced in comparison to some other local places that do not have the amazing view. More
