This is an Inn built in the 17th century and modernised to include all the mod cons. It is a labyrinth of different types of rooms, and a sympathetic blend of olde and new. This is a great place to stay for tourists from abroad who want some English history. The room had a good television, generous supply of tea,coffee... More

Very friendly and welcoming staff, breakfast was ok. Rooms have recently been refurbished so are quite nice, window frames and parts of the building in need of repair but it is a very old building 18th century I believe. For a basic one night business stay it was fine, will return mainly because of the welcoming helpful staff.

We really like this place. We stopped over night whilst on route to Cornwall. We had a triple room which was nice and quite and spotless. Lovely power shower with plenty of hot water. The place is old with lots of history the corridors to the rooms are long and undulating with wonky stairs but this is part of the... More

My wife and I were visiting friends near to Faringdon at the start of last weekend. and we had planned to return home on Saturday but it is such a beautiful area we decided to do a bit of sightseeing and try to get a room somewhere. We had planned to stay in Burford but were unable to get a... More

Joan & Rick. Liverpool Hosts Tony & Odetta. Could not have been more helpful, they had only just taken over management .Our room was more than expected could not fault it. Service was excellent for breakfast and dinner the two young men serving the meals were pleasant and attentive in keeping with the lovely place. We also attended a wedding... More

My husband and I stayed here on a Saturday night after attending a wedding reception nearby. When checking in we were stood in the empty bar waiting for someone for 5 minutes before my husband went looking for someone. A gentleman then checked us in by taking payment and leading us to our room. That was it. He didn't give... More

Stayed two nights but wished we'd chosen to stay somewhere friendlier. Staff not welcoming or helpful. Told that people only stayed there because it was cheap! It's an old place and rather rambling. Pleasant cobbled yard in middle. A bit of a trek along corridors to our room but the room was pleasant, at the back so it was quiet... More

Well where to start. If you can look past the gang of smokers loitering outside the entrance The Crown looks fine. That's as good as it gets! The manager, Tony I think his name was, is a rude and obnoxious man. I was shown to a rather shabby looking room, at closer inspection I found what looked suspiciously like public... More

I stayed here for one night as I had a seminar close by the next day. All staff seem very pleasant and obliging. I stayed in the room 9 which had 3 single beds for just me! Room was of course of a good size and nice and clean. Facilities were as expected. This hotel in an Old Coaching Inn... More

First time back after over 25 years. Very slow service being advised 15 minutes after ordering that some items not available and limited numbers of other dishes. Food good when arrived but overriding impression dominated by the lack of service. Won't rush back!
