I stayed for one night and found the hotel to be an' Oldy Worldy' place. The main bar area was a typical village type pub. The people were very friendly. The rooms are very spacious and have been recently re-carpeted. The bed was very comfortable. The furniture was dated and in need of sprucing up but did the job. The... More

From the time of booking to our departure, heather the landlady was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. She is an excellent ambassador for the relaxinnz chain and gives over 100% to ensure her guests enjoy their stay. What a lovely lady. At £59 for an overnight stay and a good hearty breakfast, how can anyone... More

I enjoyed my stay... Good food Comfortable and clean bed Great value This is an old rustic inn. Don't expect a soulless stainless steel and glass, modern hotel. Expect creaky floor boards, quirky and quaint surroundings. If l'm ever in Faringdon, I'll pop in Tom

My husband and I decided to come here for christmas day, we wanted somewhere not too far from london, friendly, cosy, old and with good home cooked food. Pleased to say this ticked all the boxes. Only thing for us that was missing was the fire wasnt lit... Too warm outside! The staff couldnt have been nicer, and we got... More

We booked two rooms for two days. The rooms were comfortable but we could not access the broadband. Please do not take this as a negative I would rather have the historical feel and rejoin the non stop digital world refreshed in the bar which does have broadband.the staff were excellent and we will return in the near future

I booked two nights here as I was visiting friends in the area and was looking forward to a restful weekend. First impressions were good. A very spacious clean room with a good sized double bed and lovely french style furniture. Spotless bathroom with a large shower cubicle and soft, fluffy white towels. A small bar of soap plus a... This is the best value for money roast dinner in the area only £5.95. Five times we have visited now on a Weds eve and every time has been brilliant. We cannot make it at home for this money and no pots to wash. You normally expect caterers to use a lower quality product when selling at these prices, but... More

Very old coaching inn nestled in the centre of Faringdon. This hotel/pub could be a delightful weekend retreat. The room was warm and the bed, although small, was comfortable. I was ready to give this place a better score but then I ventured down to breakfast. I picked up 3 coffee cups all of which hadn't been washed properly. Having... More

This is work in progress I believe. The Old Crown is being slowly refurbished, and this comes at a cost - it is an old building. When I arrived it was foul night - the young lad behind the bar had been left to deal with a lively bar on his own and did an excellent job of welcoming me,... More
