We booked an overnight stay as attending a relatives birthday party held locally. There is a car park but because of the Christmas Market we had to park in the car park opposite ( 2 free hours then free on Sunday). This was only a few minutes walk. Lovely welcome from Alison who showed us to our small but cosy... More

The Bell Hotel is centrally placed in the town square. We were able to park in the small car park at the back but there is also a public car park right nearby. We were made welcome and asked to pay up front. The pub/hotel is quite tired inside but quaint too. The room we had (Room 8) I would... More

This grade 2 listed building is located on the market square next to a local car park. The bar and restaurant are at a good standard but the rooms are tired and dated. A plus that our room had an en-suite, but a negative that it had a bath and no shower. The atmosphere in the hotel area feels very... More

An overnight stay with a colleague during two days work installing a sound system into a church meant a stay at the Bell in Faringdon which was selected following reading other reviews on Tripadvisor. The hotel provided free parking even for our large Transit Van and the walk to reception was a few steps. Our welcome was warm and we... More

I couldn't fault the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, they completely went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and to help with local information. The whole place had such a lovely atmosphere :) The breakfast was fantastic, really tasty! My room was perfectly adequate, comfortable and clean. Could do with some updating, but nothing to complain... More

We had booked double rooms for two nights as two couples. My wife and I were allocated Room 3, which we found very pleasing. It was large, had recently been refurbished and featured two big windows overlooking Market Place, with good views of the 17th century Market Hall, the medieval All Saints Church and the townsfolk bustling about below us.... The hotel room may need a little freshening up decor wise though everything else was great. The staff are very helpful & kindly. Beer was good & the people I was with enjoyed the bar food. The hotel is a very old building steeped in history & has uneven floors in the bedroom which just added to the quirkiness of... More

Could not fault the basics, The bed and The breakfast both were very good but the room especially the shower was not good, painted tiles that were peeling off and the extract fan not working properly. The other thing that was very annoying was the TV this was very difficult to operate with two remote controls.

Stayed 2 nights for business. Very friendly hosts with a warm welcome. Room was fine. Shower was a bit hard to handle but water was hot and pressure high. Breakfast was excellent - I had the full English and it nearly defeated me. Had dinner in the bar... simple fare but the steak pie was full of tender beef. Can't... More

rooms ok. Wi-if is a weak signal (worked for Android and tablet, but not Apple products). Food is good. Service is good. Stairs up to rooms are "high" steps. hotel is right in the centre of the town. Parking for about 4 to 5 cars. Local parking lot a short walk away. This Hotel is an old Coaching hotel, from... More
