My husband and I stayed in The Granary cottage for the weekend - it was fabulous! Clean, well equipped and cosy. The site itself is in walking distance of the town but retains a rural feel, nice and quiet. We found some lovely walks along the river to take our dog on. Dogs are welcome at the barn which was... Fantastic venue , we spent 2 nights with our energetic 5 year old son who absolutely loved it.. nothing was too much trouble for the staff, our boy was delighted to have breakfast in bed.! Clean, comfortable , beautiful gardens to read and relax and walking distance to the charming town of Abingdon .. Only down side was the pool... More

The location is great, close to the river and town centre. Execellent for those who appreciate countryside. Beds are uncomfortable, mattresses are old and lumpy. Not a 4 star accommodation and definitely overpriced for the service you get.

These are basic chalets with paper thin walls ,extremely low bed dated,80's style bedspread , would look much better without and just white duvet covers , seemed clean until lifted loo lid to find a large present!! shocked had to buy bleach and scrub ,all else was clean so can't understand how this was missed. The room was terrible, thin walls so you could here all next door, need and furnishings out of a bad 70s sitcom, the place is in a nice location but the whole thing needs upgrading and looks like it hasn't been decorated for decades, everything is very austere and the breakfast was pretty naff. 4 star, no way!

Good points: excellent location, quiet and excellent walks close to countryside and river. Easy walk into town, just need a torch for walking home in the dark. Bad points: we stayed in Stable Cottage. Very small kitchen, no room to store dry food. Dated, uncomfortable sofa and beds lumpy. Main bedroom is adjacent to swimming pool, and noise from pump... A haven of peace in the countryside, with friendly helpful staff, comfortable beds, clean rooms, great shower and a chance to use an indoor heated swimming pool as a bonus. Economically priced, but don't expect luxury hotel style. I would visit again!

The property is in a rural location, down an long dark road. On arrival we found the whole property are unlit. It is not a hotel but chalets. We had to ring a phone number to get someone to come and be let in and had to stand in the dark for 20 minutes. i would not have been happy... More

Booked for one night for business, wasn't too sure what to expect but was clean and functional in a nice rural setting yet so close to the town. Good in room facilities - microwave and fridge which were a pleasant surprise. Also breakfast was included and delivered to my room which was lovely. Overall everything was clean and functional and... More

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. The room had everything needed for a short stay but was a bit grubby. The large shower room was ok though. I was asked to pay up front which is unusual. There is a swimming pool which I never saw as you have to pre-book a 1-hour time slot and it was full the... More
