We booked a table for seven people for a Monday lunchtime. What a wonderful experience. the staff were superb, nothing was too much trouble. I think we ordered something extra every time the waitress walked passed our table. Lovely atmosphere and superb food.

Gorgeous pub with good accommodation but what makes this place great is the food and the staff. The food is perfect English pub food - really tasty, good choice and large servings. The staff are sensational - especially Crystal. She's super friendly and efficient and went above and beyond with the kids. Just an all-round fantastic experience.

Had a lovely family meal on last night of our holiday. Great food, reasonable prices and lovely atmosphere. Nice and cosy with open fire, staff very attentive and whilst it was busy service was still very good. Would return if we visit the area again.

Myself and my husband stayed here Sunday 18th through to Monday 19th September for our 1st anniversary. We were spending the weekend exploring Sherwood Forest and clumber park and wanted to make a weekend of it. The staff were welcoming, polite and friendly. Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are rated at four stars by the AA for our category of establishment, a coaching inn. The facilities provided in our rooms - in terms of décor, comfort, tea and coffee making facilities, shower gels and shampoo - meet and indeed exceed the criteria set out. It is true... More

Had an overnight stay to visit the Woodland festival in nearby Sherwood Forest and found the hotel to be all we needed for a one nights stay. My wife and I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, the food, especially diner in the restaurant, to be good. The room was functional and clean but we were a... More

Thank you for your review and the kind comments regarding our staff and food. The marking that this reviewer refers to on the chimney breast appeared recently, following the complete refurbishment of this room. We are in the process of sorting it out. As for the lamps and the toilet seat, I was not aware that there was a problem... More

We had booked for Sunday lunch and arrived slightly early but were greeted like celebrities by a young lady called Chrystal. The food was excellent and sufficient without being OTT, service was 1st class and the staff were on top of the job. We had the three course option and it was excellent value for money. Booked to go again.

The bar is old fashioned, and a pleasant change from places that are too modernised, but the prices of meals are very high for lunch! Pleasant staff but generally overpriced for bar food. The restaurant isn't open at lunch time, so I can't judge that. We almost left and went elsewhere, which says it all.

I have great difficulty in responding sensibly to this review in as far as it refers to an 'okay lunch' but then fails to provide any detail on what that lunch was and why it was considered expensive! So was it perhaps the jacket potato at £4.95 that was 'overpriced'? Or the Margherita pizza at £7.95? Or then again ham,... More

This lodge is located right in the heart of Robin Hood country and oozes old world charm. Upon checking in the staff were extremely helpful after our long day. We had a nice room with Asian decor (room 2). Breakfast was delicious. You can have dinner in the bar or restaurant. But in general I think 90 £ are a lot of money... Nonetheless, it is directly at the Sherwood Forest which makes it a good option to stay.
