Myself and my husband stayed here Sunday 18th through to Monday 19th September for our 1st anniversary. We were spending the weekend exploring Sherwood Forest and clumber park and wanted to make a weekend of it. The staff were welcoming, polite and friendly. We were meant to stay in room 5 but We were upgraded to room 7, this was... More

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, facilities were basic for the cost of the room , staff were friendly when there , the tea available in the room was satisfactory , but I did not appreciate the cafeteria and coffee that went with it and the fact there was no instant coffee, I did ask one of the... Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are rated at four stars by the AA for our category of establishment, a coaching inn. The facilities provided in our rooms - in terms of décor, comfort, tea and coffee making facilities, shower gels and shampoo - meet and indeed exceed the criteria set out. It is true... More

Had an overnight stay to visit the Woodland festival in nearby Sherwood Forest and found the hotel to be all we needed for a one nights stay. My wife and I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, the food, especially diner in the restaurant, to be good. The room was functional and clean but we were a... More

Thank you for your review and the kind comments regarding our staff and food. The marking that this reviewer refers to on the chimney breast appeared recently, following the complete refurbishment of this room. We are in the process of sorting it out. As for the lamps and the toilet seat, I was not aware that there was a problem... More

We had booked for Sunday lunch and arrived slightly early but were greeted like celebrities by a young lady called Chrystal. The food was excellent and sufficient without being OTT, service was 1st class and the staff were on top of the job. We had the three course option and it was excellent value for money. Booked to go again.

The bar is old fashioned, and a pleasant change from places that are too modernised, but the prices of meals are very high for lunch! Pleasant staff but generally overpriced for bar food. The restaurant isn't open at lunch time, so I can't judge that. We almost left and went elsewhere, which says it all.

I have great difficulty in responding sensibly to this review in as far as it refers to an 'okay lunch' but then fails to provide any detail on what that lunch was and why it was considered expensive! So was it perhaps the jacket potato at £4.95 that was 'overpriced'? Or the Margherita pizza at £7.95? Or then again ham,... More

This lodge is located right in the heart of Robin Hood country and oozes old world charm. Upon checking in the staff were extremely helpful after our long day. The rooms are ensuited, clean, tidy and fairly well furnished but are a little expensive for what you get. The wifi is a little hit and miss which can be frustrating... More

We had a nice room with Asian decor (room 2). Breakfast was delicious. You can have dinner in the bar or restaurant. But in general I think 90 £ are a lot of money... Nonetheless, it is directly at the Sherwood Forest which makes it a good option to stay.

Stayed here on the night of 9th July. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. We had a meal there on the evening and paid £70 for two rounds of drinks and four one course meals. The food was excellent - all in all great value. Location wise it's very nice, just opposite St Mary's church and only 5 minutes... More

Thanks for the kind review. For information, we have standard double rooms at a rate of £90.00 per night including breakfast and, in addition, a couple of 'smaller' double rooms which are charged at £80.00 per night, also including breakfast. These latter are indeed smaller than our standard rooms, hence the reduction in rate. Guests are of course free to... More

Fantastic service from the staff, we booked a table for 9 people as a surprise for my mums birthday. The staff couldn't have done anymore to help, they even helped us hide and showed my parents to a table for 2. Food was very good, freshly cooked and plenty of choice.

Wife and I stayed for just one night in a 'standard double' room. the staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was fine, with all the usual additions – tea, coffee etc. The wardrobe hanging space was just adequate, but more space would be needed for a long stay. The hotel is a mix of 'olde worlde' and... More
