Our family group of 11 had a very enjoyable week in this tremendous location. The accommodation itself was very big but also very dated with tired decor and veryold fashioned crockery etc. It is surprising that towels are not included in what was not a cheap rental. Also it was a disappointment there was no welcome pack and although they... More

This was an RCI trade for us, and since it was listed as a Gold Crown resort we expected a lot more. The grounds are pleasant, and the rooms, while tired, were fine. But there was only a skeleton crew on duty at any time (i.e. 1 person at most), no clean linen sevice, minimal amenities, etc. Also, while a... More

We recently stayed at Akeld Manor and Cottages and loved it. We highly recommend this property when you are in the Northumberland area of England. We stayed in cottage #22 Catkin, a two bedroom unit. We had 4 adults and had plenty of room during our stay. The kitchen was well equipped, including a washer/dryer that was a tremendous benefit... More

We paid just short of £1200 for a weeks stay in Timberwick Green, a six sleeper cottage on this estate. The accommodation was extremely basic. No dishwasher, no CD player, no radio. The only heating was night storage heaters which meant that on an evening the sitting room was so cold that we were sat with blankets to keep warm... More

Much like other reviewers, the real positive about this place is its location - right on the edge of the Northumbria National Park, easy access to the coast and Scotland, and brilliant for walking. Wooler is a lovely little town with all the basics plus a fantastic butcher and deli! We were not allocated the cottage that we had booked... More

Beautiful cottage, well equipped . Nice and warm. Very clean. However.. For the price we paid ALL of the facilities should have been open I.e the bar. All other facilities closed at 5pm. Overall we had a lovely stay. Would recommend and would stay again in the future. I imagine to be there in the summer would be really nice.... More

We booked a cottage / barn conversion unit as part of a timeshare rental through RCI and were initially allocated No. 20 Bramble Cottage, but were reassigned to No. 28 Primula Patch prior to arrival. We looked at numerous reviews prior to booking and based on these alone would not have stayed here. However whilst most of the comments regarding... More

Wife and myself stayed here for a week this September. We stayed in one of the cottages and were told it used to be the Chauffeurs Cottage. Inside the cottage is very dated. We had no WI-FI. No mobile reception and no internal phone. We asked about the internal phone but were told there was a fault in the line... More

This place could be great... We stayed in the manor it was comfortable and warm and had lots of potential. The rooms were clean and there was ample parking. The Manor is somewhat run down with old fixtures and fittings. Less quaint and more like a student house. There are lots of printed notes dotted around generally listing rules of... More
