The meal was ok. The waitress was nice however the managers attitude leaves alot to be desired. When you go for a meal as a group of four people they serve 3!!! The forth meal did not arrive for 20 mins leaving one diner eating alone. The single diner was offered a glass of wine. When this questioned the manager... More

Hi. Thank you for your review. We did mess up your tables order, so sorry for that. I did your bill as cheaply as possible, and gave you a glass of wine. These both seemed to make you all angrier, I am sorry for that also. I did say 'we aren't a charity', this was uncalled for, so I am... More

Decided to stop off for lunch here to break up our journey home and pleased we did. Very warm welcome by bar staff and the menu looked delicious. Our food was excellent and there was plenty of it. Lots to choose from in the menu too. The lounge area where we ate was traditionally decorated but was a little bit... More

A great stay for an all too brief overnight. Our room was immaculate and very cozy even if the decor was a tad dated. The bar area and restaurant oozed old world charm and the lovely Christmas decorations added to the appeal. We had a super evening meal and gorgeous full English breakfast with most of the ingredients sourced locally.... More

Stayed for one night. Easy check in and directed to a nice large room with comfy bed. Unfortunately within two hours of arrival the hotel suffered a power cut, which wasn't surprising given the strong winds in the area. We went down into the bar area where other guests had also congregated around the log fire and had some drinks... More

really enjoyed our night at the Tankerville Arms, had been for lunch in the summer and decided to stay here. Staff were great, food was lovely especially the starters which were huge and bar had a lovely atmosphere. Our dogs were welcome and we were able to book a table on a busy night with enough room for us. Will... More

Stayed here for one night. Outside impression was the hotel looked warm and cosy. Really quick and friendly check in. Went to our room (9) which was a family room as the double rooms had sold out. Tip is to ring the hotel as we got the family room for the price of a double. Room was large and beds... More

Although an old fashioned and slightly tired hotel, the staff were very helpful and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed two nights and breakfast was very good. Ate in the restaurant one evening and was very nice, good home cooked fare.

I organised a business meeting and stayed the night before. The staff are very helpful, nothing was a bother at all. Very flexible with timings for tea/coffee & lunch. Food is very good - Breakfast lunch & dinner; some interesting beers too. My room was clean & tidy, warm and fresh. The bed was comfy & I had a cracking... More
