So glad we found this B&B. We booked the Chillingham Room, it was on the ground floor, was bright and airy with lovely decoration, spotlessly clean, couple of arm chairs to relax or watch TV and even a wee desk and chair for makeup, reading etc. Loved the Egyptian cotton bedding and sumptuous bath towels. We really appreciated fridge with cool water and fresh milk, water dispenser and numerous teas, coffees and hot chocolate. Our breakfast was excellent with great service, choices from yogurts, cereal, fruit juices, jams etc followed by a hot cooked breakfast of ur choice. Well presented and of lovely quality. Certainly started your day well. Picnic bench at side garden to use if you wished to sit outside. We can highly recommend staying here and thank Gareth and David for sharing there lovely home. The town and harbour is just a few minutes walk away with some lovely wee shops, there are a few restaurants close by and we enjoyed trying them during our visit. This is a lovely area to visit, bustly town with lots of daytrippers and holiday makers. Bambrugh castle is close by (amazing )and there are lovely boat trips from the harbour.…
Other guest reviews of this B/B are correct and we do not wish to repeat as it is a very comfortable place to stay in Seahouses. This Lovely Bed and Breakfast is well located as stated. We had the Chillingham room on the ground floor close to the dining room, very easy entrance. This faced the front garden covered with net curtains behind the bed, which actually impeded any good view out but kept your privacy. Lovely room it was and bed very comfortable, but we found the basin in bathroom to small for a quick evening face wash, and unfortunately our towels left in the shower tray after two nights were not changed, fortunately there was a third towel to use for next two nights for one. We found the the shower gel container empty also, but we had some anyway. OK, so a few honest gripes here that did not spoil our stay at all. The hosts Gareth and David were very pleasant as were the waitresses. Thanks also to the guests also staying for the conversations and pleasant banter we all shared. It was fun. And so, if you are going to visit Northumberland then Hollytrees at Seahouses is recommended. Thanks to all. Ian & Sharon.…
Staying at Holly Tree was one of the nicest holidays we've had in a while! Seahouses is a typical British seaside town framed in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The B&B has lovely bright rooms with good facilities and great breakfast in a nice dining-room. It close to the sea and very handy for the town. The team are a perfect mix of discreet yet present and helpful with lots of good advice! I would really recommend this place to stay!
This cosy Bed and Breakfast is well located within easy walking distance of the town and ideal for booking trips to the Farne Islands. The accommodation is comfortable and the hosts David and Gareth seem to have though of everything you may need. Make up remover in the bedroom, chocolates, and even fresh milk in the room fridge. They have provided guide books to borrow showing the best places to visit and even an umbrella if it is raining. David know the area well so can give you handy tips for walks and places to visit. Our room was very comfortable and the beds was great. Breakfast was home cooked and you had a great choice. Highly recommend the Holly Trees .
The room was immaculate, lovely thought having fresh milk in the fridge in room. Parking easy on street. Easy walk into Seahouses centre. Lots of places to eat. Would recommend Indian Brassiere. Great breakfast
A quick last minute booking for a 2 night stay in seahouses.. we arrived and got the keys straight away .. the room was on the small side but the owner had made us aware of this from the outset and it was fine .. spotless with a bath and shower.. tea coffe hot chocolate biscuits milk and cold water awaited... very close to all amenity... Superb breakfast great staff and hosts .. fully recommended... well done
Fabulous short break, lovely low fat breakfasts, comfy beds, clean and friendly place close to the centre of the town, lovely beach in Saltburn to Bamburgh. Warm welcome at Holly Trees even though it was baltic weather!!
Lovely hosts quiet spacious room litteraly a minutes walk to the center of town and a beautiful breakfast worth every penny we had the Chillingham room very spacious and well prepared with some lovely little touches you don't get in some b&bs like coffee pod machine and real milk in a mini fridge usb sockets by the bed like I say a very well thought out room and a lovely chap who owns it
We had a perfect stay here! The room was small but very nice and clean, it is well located to walk to Bamburgh castle, go to the beach, or drive to some other sights nearby. Check-in was easy and uncomplicated, and the staff was lovely. The breakfast was lovely and they even over vegan options, which is greatly appreciated. My only criticism would be that in Covid times it would be nice if the breakfast hours were a little extended, so that not all of the guests have to squeeze into the small breakfast room during that one hour.
Holly trees put us up when the b + b we had planned to stay at let us down at the last minute. We are so grateful to them for making our stay in Northumberland a great few days. The b + b is immaculate and everything in the room was really well thought out; fresh milk in the fridge, wine glasses and opener in the room, lots of storage etc. The breakfasts were delicious, service friendly, efficient and discrete. It’s ideally situated in a quiet road within walking distance from the centre of Seahouses which makes it perfect for walks to Bamburgh. We really enjoyed our time here and will stay again if we return to Seahouses.
