This hotel I feel has seen better days. The receptionist seemed rather harassed at times so expect it is run with minimum of staff. We had spa treatments but when receiving my massage I was looking down on all the soiled towels etc which had been hidden under the bed!! I also had facial but was not asked what skin... More

Our stay was part of an escorted trip, so the service could have been influenced by this. Also, as part of the trip, we were provided with transport from the hotel, which is in the middle of nowhere, so a car is essential for mobility. A rather grand hotel with a number of nicely furnished public rooms. We were fast-tracked... More

Stayed in a feature double room- bed v comfy, lovely view over countryside and surprisingly quiet considering our door was on the main staircase. Cooked breakfast was excellent, fruit and yoghurt were a little limited on continental. Had afternoon tea spa day booked so went down to spa early which was good as there was a bit of a shortage... After some years absence (when we previously had an outstanding visit and gave it top rating for comfort and dining) this was an overnight stay whilst travelling to Scotland. Well received and had a Feature Double room which was spacious and well appointed with uninterrupted views over the gardens, golf course and countryside. Had very nice walk through the wooded... The building is lovely, but looks a bit tired. The bathroom door was chipped and the seats in the drawing room were a bit worn. More flowers or ornaments would improve it. The lockers in the spa need to be updated. The room was good, a fridge would have been nice. The swimming pool and spa area were very good.... More
