We were in the area for two nights with a dog, and needed somewhere to eat. This place is ideal and I wish I'd known about it years ago. There's a restaurant as well if you want to be away from dogs... Plenty of space for kids to run around outside, and a playground too. Fab. A good choice of... More

An excellent pub with great selection of food which is locally sourced. Very accommodating, managed to fit a family of 7 and a dog in for a meal at short notice on a busy night. Friendly staff. Easy walking distance from Craster village.

We stayed here for one night while walking the Northumberland Coast path. The room was fine with good light, comfortable beds and hot water. It works for a one night stay but there isn't much about the place that stands out. The wifi is only available in the bar and dining room and then very spotty especially when busy, not... More

Go for the fish and chips. Beautifully cooked and big enough for a doggy bag which was gladly given providing lunch the next day. Although they were very busy they fitted us in early as we need to eat after a busy day sightseeing.

The drive up to the pub is impressive, however don't be fooled. The accommodation is basic, uncomfortable bed, no tea cups to make a cuppa, just two plastic cups out of a vending machine. We ordered a meal and had to wait over an hour for it to be served! By which time the children were ready for bed. The... More

The drive into the pub is lovely through the woods but unfortunately disappointing when you get there. The beer choices are boring and predictable. The staff appear not to understand English and the louts hanging out of the windows, half-dressed, in the back garden, noisy and intimidating. Maybe we got there on a stag weekend, who knows, either way it... More

Myself and husband stayed here as we were attending a wedding close by. The staff were great and prior to us staying I had regular contact with them as I had a few queries (taxi numbers, early check in) The room was spotless, nice and comfy and over looked the grounds. We had a drink in the bar before attending... More

Really good country pub. Good food. Busy and full of dogs. Excellent beer garden out back. Loads of space. Easily seated a table of 6 with 3 dogs in tow. Well situated for proctor stead campsite too. Will definitely call in again next time we go up camping to the area.
