This was our second stay in this hotel. Sadly the rooms are becoming increasingly tired/shabby and although the female members of staff were quite pleasant and helpful, the male members of staff (i.e. front of house) were unprofessionally abrupt, ignorant and rude. Needless to say we will not be re-visiting this establishment, unless we hear of dramatic changes.

Have just returned from a 3 night stay having stayed with 3 friends on a shooting trip. I have never enjoyed a break more. The rooms are a good size, warm and with everything you need. The staff and owners could not be friendlier, really good crack with the friendly locals in the bar with a good selection of ales...

Stayed for one night in a comfortable warm room.. enjoyed good food and particularly friendly service...will definitely come again especially as its so close to Craster. Will hopefully be back soon to take advantage of their winter deal @ £25 per room.

Short walk from nearby caravan park to this friendly village hostelry. We had a very pleasant meal in relaxed surroundings. Food was good. Particularly enjoyed seafood sharing platter to start. Mains were also competently cooked.

While in Dunstan for a week's holiday we decided to visit The Cottage for a meal and all three of us are so glad we did. It has lovely staff, excellent - and speedy - service, and our dog was made more than welcome. The food this week has been, without exception, outstanding and the prices are very reasonable indeed....

This place is ideally located for the Northumberland coast, the Northumberland National Park and loads of interesting towns, historical places. The inn has comfortable rooms, not luxury but clean with a comfortable bed. The en suite could do with a new bath panel (minor point but cosmetically important). The food was good, plentiful and honest. Breakfast was cooked to order....

What a great place, ideal location for exploring the beautiful scenery and coast of Northumberland. We had this place recommended to us by a someone who had previously stayed and now having stayed ourselves would definitely pass on that recommendation. Dog friendly, great food, clean and comfortable rooms and the staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Planning another trip...

Had a reasonable pub meal and the staff were friendly but there was something very wrong with the beer. First pint had to go back and second was barely drinkable. Met someone elsewhere who had had the same feedback.

Ate here twice on our 3 night stay in this area of Northumberland (stopped at a cottage a few doors down). The pub has a friendly atmosphere with a mixture of locals and visitors to the area. Staff are friendly, drinks good priced, nicely decorated and it's also dog friendly. The food was also very nice, I would definitely recommend...
