Hi, I am genuinely am sorry you had such an experience, fortunately it was myself you spoke with and I clearly rememer you, i am "the man" you mentioned, you did make an impression on me. Tatty is most certainly not correct, the whole of the public areas have recently been decorated, not even a drawing pin mark on the bar walls, which i may add is the only area you visited, not even a visit to the toilets, you need to go through the restaurant to reach them so you missed that part, I know as i kept an eye on you. I am actually surprised you could judge as we had so many people in when you visited. Oh you may mean the bar tables, they recently had a coat of stain on them which has not bonded and will be done again when we are quiet. At the time you arrived it was just behind another 40 odd people who decided to arrive for sunday lunch within 20 minutes of each other, some booked but most not, as we only had four staff on it was a bit of a push to make sure everyone had drinks, menus, had orders taken and the food arrived for them in a timely fashion, while you were ordering at the bar there were six trays lined up having drinks put on them, a little hint we were busy. You then requested lunch and I let the male of the party know we couldnt fit another table in for a little while, the gent then turned to you and said "there not serving food" I corrected this or rather attempted to 3 times to be spoken over by the gent you then asked and i let you have the same answer but added I would be lucky to find time to make you a cuppa at the moment but we can and will fit you in shorty. The people eating in the bar was a great sign we were in fact serving food. I came back to you 5 minutes later and let you know we had a table leaving in about 5 minutes and you were welcome to have it, the curt reply let me know in some way you had been offended and were not happy with us. If we treated you badly I apologise, it simply was a case all the staff were working flat out to deal with the sudden influx of customers which is unusual, although we are very busy on a sunday it is usually spread out a little better so I do not have to have a lot of staff. In all we stayed full until around 3pm so a normal sunday other than the point you arrived. To leave such a review without spending any time here or even as much as sampling a sandwich is not really fair play.

I've wanted to revisit Lindisfarne for years and so my husband decided we were going during the Easter break. We had amassed a lot of Tesco vouchers so booked this hotel through hotels.com using our clubcard vouchers to cover most of the cost. Breakfast wasn't included but we

We chose the Inn as it's very handy for Lindisfarne, and had a great overnight stay, with dinner in the bar. When we said we were vegetarian were offered 5 lovely choices! The vegetarian breakfast was good too. Everyone is very welcoming, and dog friendly, and our

What can I say. This was a great place to eat. The portion size was generous and the prices were also very reasonable so well I would definitely recommend a visit if you are staying near. A damn sight better quality and value of some of the local establishments. Good value and

Hi, Thank you for the feedback, we do appreciate all comments from guests and diners. Unfortunately no one informed the chef a vegetarian was coming to eat, our fault for the breakdown in information sharing. The web site is not ours, it is the previous owners who wrote that menu and most of the food was pre packed and not homemade, we are in the process of having that web page removed to be replaced with our own, it pains me to think people will assume we sell the rubbish listed on that menu. Had you visited before you would have known the menu had changed or was to change as we tell everyone who visits, perhaps you visited before we bought the business? All main courses are served with a choice of chips, peas or potatoes and veg, note at the bottom of the listing on the menu. Alternative coffee was offered as a sign next to the coffee machine stated, i know as it was myself that broke it and had to write it, my sincere apology for that, the coffee machine is in my opinion a bit like a super computer and i should leave it alone!! We pride ourselves on fresh food, sourced locally and prepared each day, We do not buy in pre prepared, nor do we make it weekly and freeze it (actually not cost effective but it is a standard we maintain) hence we prefer if you have a preferential diet or diet due to medical grounds you let us know and we will be prepared for you visiting, had you mentioned a veg curry it would have been ready for you, also had you mentioned the online menu you would have been informed it was not our menu. It would also have been helpful if you had spoken to someone at the time, we would have done something for you, writing on here is a bit like closing the stable door after the horse is legging it around the A1 dodging trucks......... I wish I could do something for you, perhaps you would visit again but please ring ahead and speak to us and I will personally make sure something special is done for you. Feedback is important, good or bad but also communication is key to a good business, I want to make sure everyone enjoys the experience dining or staying with us, but if i do not know of an issue until afterwards I am powerless.
