What a beautiful place to stay. We had an overnight recently & could not fault it. We stayed in a family room which was immaculate. Fluffy robes & chocolates a nice wee extra. The continental breakfast was great with plenty of choice. We will definitely be back next year.
lovely welcome and beautiful room and spacious bathroom, Very nice continental breakfast would highly recommend the local covid restrictions are very strict so perhaps we didn't see the best of here but it was still very good
Beautifully renovated property, We had the tweed room which is in the attic with lots of quirky touches and original beams. Spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. Continental breakfast was tasty with good selection of yoghurts, toast, cereals and good coffee. Nice touches in the room like fluffy dressing gowns, bottled water and chocolates. Parking is interesting, as other reviewers have noted. We bought a disk from the local tourist office and parked in the car park opposite. Highly recommend.
We’ve just come back from a 5 day stay in this guest house. Anne the host is lovely, so helpful, kind and informative- her aim is to please and she certainly does that. We paid extra for a larger room which I would recommend. Due to COVID-19 we were served a cold breakfast, plenty of fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurts, cheese, croissants and toast. Parking is a little odd in Berwick, you need a disk to park, but parking is limited, Anne provided us with a disk and a parking permit. Eating out is a challenge at the moment and I would recommend you book in advance, as there are only a few restaurants and they are fully booked. We went to The Queens Arms and Foxtons food and wine bar, of which they were both very good. Places to visit include, Bamburgh Castle, Craster, Berwick walls and pier and the barracks, Holy Island or take a trip on the train to Edinburgh. Lots and lots of places to walk. …
Carlsberg don't do guest houses, but if they did this would definitely be it! After loosing our summer holiday to covid, we decided a long weekend in Edinburgh may be just the ticket after a summer lock down. To break the journey up we had a night over in Berwick upon Tweed. After a quick peruse on the net, we chose parade school guest House. What a decision this was! Where do I start? Ann the host, could not have been more helpful if she had carried me inside her for 9 months. The accomodation was pristine as if it had just rolled off the Rolls-Royce production line! Our room was compact, but well laid out. The chocolates and bath robes were an unexpected and appreciated touch. The ensuite was proportionally small, but immaculately clean and sterile. The bed was as comfy as the one at home with luxurious pillows and coverings, which induced a wonderful night's sleep, broken only by the shrill of young seagulls, which only added to our seaside experience. Breakfast was limited to continental only due to covid, but don't let this put you off as there are confidential breakfasts and there are CONTINENTAL breakfasts, this being the latter. To conclude what should have been a quick night stop has in our opinion been the highlight of the trip. Thank you Ann! P.S do yourself a favour and book dinner at Audela restaurant, just 10 minutes by foot.…
