On our UK-concert tour, we were very happy to visit also Berwick upon tweed, where we played at the Barrels Ale House (very typical and worth a visit too..). We're really lucky to choose the great B&B of Derek and Dianne Toward, 'cause it is a very calm and though close to the center located place, where the family took good care of us. There's no need to mention the really worth seeing town and landscape, I guess..We'll come again!

When we entered the room, number4, it took our breath away. Tasteful décor all made by Diane the owner. The bed a super king size was very comfortable. The view from our window looked out over the estuary which was full of swans. The breakfast plentiful and tasty. A small fruit bowl of strawberries, kiwi fruit and blueberries was placed at each table setting. Unusually the meals and tea were served on Royal Albert real china which made the food taste better especially the tea! Had many a conversation with Diane. We were also lucky enough to meet her son. Thank you Diane. (We went to Beamish open air museum on Diane's advice but have decided to visit another day. We were told we needed at least 5 days to see the 365 acre sight of bygone days.)

Just back from a 2 night stay in 11 Quay Walls and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Derek and Diane were welcoming hosts. Our room was well equipped, carefully decorated and spotless! The bed was so comfy and the view amazing. The bathroom was quite small but again spotless so there was no issue with it. The system for breakfast was very flexible allowing us to choose what we wanted and when - I believe the traditional Northumbrian breakfast was delicious - and all served by the very friendly Derek. The B&B is well placed on the walls to explore Berwick . If we come back to Berwick we will definitely be staying here again!

Derek and Dianne have created a comfortable, stylish B&B with simple, tasteful décor, spacious, airy rooms, a fantastic spacious bathroom in Room 1 and a Northumberland breakfast second to none. It is a place of great character, perched on the city walls, with awesome views over the Tweed and the three bridges. Nevertheless, I most remember the warm and friendly hosts, who have created a masterpiece.

Rooms spotless and beds very comfy. Derek and Diane were excellent hosts nothing too much trouble. Food was spot on.... Diane's porridge was the best I have ever tasted!! We had a lovely view of the River Tweed from our room. Good location only 5 mins from the town centre. Will definitely go again.
