The Farmhouse Guest House is one of the best places i have ever stayed in. The proprieters Dave and Val are such lovely people,Dave has a dry sense of humour and Val is very smiley and bubbly. Our room was spot on,they provide toiletries, lovely soft towels and the bed was soclean and comfy. There was everything we could need in that... More

We had three wonderful nights here at August bank holiday. It is ideally situated to explore the North East. Dave and Val are excellent hosts. The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast excellent, and there is even a surprise triple waiting for you when you return from one of the local restaurants.

This ticked all the essential requirements of location, room quality, food, cleanliness, friendliness etc. It was the added items that also mattered - tea/cake welcome, possible 'nightcap' provided, extra wish to provide useful information on local eating places, booking of trips etc. The owner was very friendly & available to help when asked. Being very near the A1, but in... More

A very comfortable experience at this village centre B&B. 5 at breakfast with a No Vacancies sign in the window. Everything went like clockwork. Parking is on the street outside, but plenty of room. Co-op over the road. Good TV in room. Complimentary night-cap available! Range of teas available in the room. Breakfast was lovely If we are in the... More

Without repeating the points raised in other positive reviews, it's all true. Val and Dave are generous, efficient and very thoughtful hosts. Stopped for two days. The breakfast was outstanding. Very comfortable rooms. No need to take shampoo, conditioner and other toiletries as all provided. Nicely positioned for seahouses, cragside, holy island and other highlights. Highly recommended.

A warm and friendly welcome, a well-appointed, comfortable room overlooking the street which was very quiet. Plenty of towels, including a face cloth which is most unusual but very welcome. We loved all the special little touches, it was good to have a sofa in the room for relaxing whilst watching television, wine glasses and a corkscrew - inspired! Fresh... More

Friend and I were walking the Northumberland coastal path and arrived at the farm house looking like drowned rats after being caught in a downpour. Our hosts sprang into action, drying our wet clothes and stuffing our boots with newspapers, we couldn't have felt more welcome. Our bags had been taken upstairs and we were invited down for home made... More

Regarding location, The Farmhouse is situated in Belford, a small, peaceful village, just off the A1 and within easy reach of Bamburgh, Seahouses and Holy Island. Parking wasn't difficult as I managed to park on the road, just outside the Farmhouse. There is a co-op supermarket over the road and a fish and chip shop a few doors down. The... More

It is the friendliness of David and attention to detail that makes this place special. Lovely complementary nightcap. For a walker, they accommodated my late arrival, having gotten lost off trail. For Americans, at least, a washcloth was provided.

We stayed here one night as we progressed along the Northumberland Coastal Path. It was a highly comfortable guest house. The owners were very friendly meeting us with freshly baked cake and a hearty welcome. Our room was lovely with grand towels and everything you would ever need for an enjoyable stay. Breakfasts we individually prepared and absolutely delicious and... More
