This was a bit on the pricey side for a b&b at £99 for a double room but it justified this by being top of the range in terms of quality. The very welcoming hostess, Claire, had clearly gone to a lot of trouble to ensure every detail was perfect, from the chic décor in the bedrooms, fluffy towels in the bathroom, and the fresh milk for cuppas to the comfy beds and good choice of breakfast options. The food was good (with a varied choice of breakfast options) and the beds comfortable. We even had a small bottle of complementary Lindisfarne mead in our room. Her advice on evening eating options was also spot on. It is definitely a good option if you are looking to stay in the area.

This B&B is an absolute gem. We were greeted with a very warm welcome from Claire which included a slice of delicious home made cake. Our room was beautifully appointed with many thoughtful touches including some tasty Lindisfarne mead which served as a fine nightcap. The guests' information folder was extensive and clear. Our room was very comfortable with high quality furnishings and gorgeous soft towels. Nothing was too much trouble for our extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic hosts, Claire and Simon, who kindly reserved tables at local restaurants for our evening meals. The breakfasts are excellent, using mainly locally sourced top quality ingredients. Highlights include fresh fruit salad, Greek yoghurt, Craster Smokery kippers and smoked salmon plus Simon's home made baked beans. We travelled by public transport and the bus stop is outside this wonderful venue. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Hello Fiona, thank you for leaving us this lovely, comprehensive and very helpful review, we are delighted you both enjoyed your stay with us and we loved chatting with you after breakfast. The weather was so kind for your Craster/Dunstanburgh walk, what a total contrast at the moment, no such thing as Flaming June! We are very proud to use as much local produce as possible and also to make as much of our own produce too such as the gingerbread and Simon's beans. One of my tasks this week is to make some more jam! :) We are so lucky to have such a great bus route and just outside our door, we have had many guests on foot who have said exactly the same thing. We hope you had a good journey home and do hope that we will see you again sometime in the future. With best wishes and kind regards Claire and Simon

We spent one night on our way north and I think it is one of the very best B&Bs we have stayed in. The room was light, very tastefully decorated, super clean and very comfortable. Claire and Simon made very effort to ensure we had a good stay including helping to book a very good restaurant nearby for dinner. The breakfast was amazing, and such a good idea to order the night before. The enthusiasm of the hosts shines through everything and we will definitely chose to stay at the Post Office House next time we come up the coast. The location is ideal for exploring Holy Island and other sites along the coast.

It was lovely to meet you both, Mette and thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It is such a compliment when a guest says that we are one of the best B&B's they have been to. We love what we do and always feel that we have done an excellent job when guests leave happy and say they will definitely return. So pleased you enjoyed your meal at the White Swan, together with our breakfasts! It is good to hear your feedback about the pre-order for breakfasts, it works very well all round and also ensures that our guests receive exactly what they ask for and at the time they require. Belford, as you rightly say, is ideally located for exploring Holy Island and the other places along this part of the coast. We hope you both had a lovely break in Edinburgh and look forward to welcoming you back to Post Office House in the future. With best wishes and kind regards Claire and Simon

We were walking St Oswald's Way and stayed only one night, but the warm welcome, cosy room (with a few little 'extras'!), comfy bed and superb breakfast were just what we needed. All you could ask for in a B&B and the best one on our route!
