We visited here for food several times whilst on a recent break in Seahouses. We had lovely lunches and snacks in the Lady Crewe Tearoom, a generous Sunday lunch in the restaurant and a beautifully cooked steak meal one evening in the cosy bar. The staff, especially the waitresses were genuinely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, even... More

Stayed here just after Christmas and it was fantastic. We were given an upgrade to a spacious room with beautiful views. First class accommodation. There's a very cosy bar with excellent local beers and a wide choice of gins. We had booked dinner at a different restaurant but wished we were staying longer to sample their menu as our breakfast... Just had 2 days at this hotel, staff fantastic as was the food but the bedrooms are very small and the double bed inadequate these days in size. We were told the hotel is due for a major redesign and is to be changed downstaires to open it all up into one big casual and dining area, sound awful to us.

Stayed for a long weekend in August, a busy time of the year which can't be easy for hoteliers. On the whole a grand location, the nearest hotel to the Castle. Decor contemporary/ traditional and generally very pleasant with only a few tatty corners. Staff very pleasant and accommodating on the whole. Food and beer selection good. Sounds good? However... We have just had a lovely stay here, the room was bright, airy, very clean. The food and service were all very good and I would recommend a stay here to anyone. My only criticism would be the poor quality toilet paper!

A return for another birthday celebration on a busy Saturday in October A warm welcome from staff on arrival and seated quickly into a buzzing restaurant area . The Wynding Inn is always top quality venue for atmosphere and variety of menu. Our starters of Seared Scallops and grilled Goats Cheese arrived timely just after our chilled White Zinfandel Top... They call it the Wynding Bar & Restaurant and we (four of us) dined there on a Sunday night towards the end of September: I was the host. First visit for all of us. Why the name "Wynding" I know not. For one reason or another (mainly because I get a bit concerned at the possibility of kitchens lacking spark... More

Called into the Lady Crewe for a bowl of soup and a sandwich after a long walk on the beach. Wow their cream of crab soup is to die for. Also had a minute steak and onion baguette. Top nosh! It's nice that they also allow dogs in.
