A friend recommended that my wife and I try, known locally as the Vic, for a meal.I have to say that the food service and ambience were superb. As good as any restaurant in the area. The staff work extremely hard for the benefit of their customers.

A last minute stay in Bamburgh at The Victoria. Castle View Room & Superior Single were only ones left for our dates, so booked them. My son's single room was excellent value at £55 B+B per night, our room whilst very nice with great views of the castle did seem a little overpriced at £175 B+B per night - but... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights on our journey to Scotland, chose this hotel as it was dog friendly, and it certainly was, would love to return some time. The staff ,especially the waiting staff are very friendly and obliging and the breakfasts are top notch, good choice ,I loved my omelette . I believe because this is a... More

Stayed one night during a short break in Northumberland. The Victoria hotel is (fittingly) a large Victorian hotel in the middle of the village of Bamburgh (with its impressive castle). The hotel has parking available further down the road (or public parking outside on the road, but the village was very busy). Stayed in a standard room on the third... More

Not really fair to keep it a secret we need the local business' to prosper. Car park 60m from hotel well that's what the sign says but I suspect it's 200m. Cases difficult on gravel car park but ok on public footpath. Check in was efficient. But not before 3pm ... Fair enough that's what they say is check in... More

We went for two nights at the Victoria. The building is old and characterful, and was nicely presented. The bistro part of the building is particularly nice. The room was decorated well and plenty of space - a disabled room, which we didn't require, but the extra space was nice. Excellent bathroom facilities. The breakfasts were good, and we ate... More

We were in Northumberland for the weekend and met a friend for dinner. We turned up without a booking here and although it was busy we got a table fairly quickly. The menu is varied. I was impressed that the menu had healthy options. My husband had the gammon and eggs and my friend an I both had the seabass... More

Our room was big enough but had to be accessed through the public toilet area - strange! No opening windows so room got very hot and stuffy in the night.
