Staying at a B&B nearby we were looking for an evening meal and called into the Oaks without any great hopes. In fact it was excellent! Very friendly and helpful staff, pleasant bar area, brilliant menu either in the bar or the restaurant. We ate local fish in the bar: absolutely great. Good value, reasonable choice of wines too. Would certainly... More

Bar lady was helpful , food was excellent ,superb starter and then we had the carvery served by the chef, more than enough to eat at a very reasonable price. Will definately use agan next time I am in Alnwick

Awful.... Please stay well clear... It's in desperate need of a refurbishment, dark, dingy, carpets worn, wallpaper chipped and peeling, rooms are basic, very poor! Stay away.... These people are charging £105 for a luxury room!! More like £30 a night!

Expensive hotel that has threadbare carpets, strange smells, terrible male staff, very poor showers and doors shutting/slamming throughout the night. Go to White Swan down the road, loads better for similar price.

Room was large with a good size bathroom / shower. Did get a bit warm in the room but not too uncomfortable. Really good cooked breakfast served from 7.30am which was good if you need to out for work. I had the carvery two nights and the meat melted in your mouth. The freshly cooked fried cod was also very... More

Called here the other night as we fancied some good pub food, we were not disappointed. The plate was full of excellent quality food, service was quick and friendly. Easy to get to with parking spaces, also good value for money. We will be back next time we're visiting Alnwick.

Imagine a 1970's American movie, showing a scene of a seedy shabby dark beige hotel room with a boarded up window, stains on the carpet, a miss match of furniture and holes in the wall paper, well this is the room set. The electric socket fiitings looked old and unsafe, the pillows were flat and hard, The dressing table stool... More

We stayed here overnight when visiting Alnwick Castle. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was large, bright and very clean. The lady who booked us in was lovely. She took us all the way to our room and explained everything really well. We went for dinner before we went out for the night. The service was brilliant and... More

I ate here with my family inc. 2 young children while holidaying in the area a week ago, for some reason I can't explain I debated eating out here, was completely misplaced the food was first class pub grub, children's meals were as big as many adult meals I've had elsewhere and all fresh cooked (e.g. Actual fresh fish and...
