This is a pub with rooms. The room itself was very good and very big you could get lost in the enormous bed and was very comfortable. The room also had a bath There is free parking although the car park is a bit run down, adequate breakfast the following morning, all in all enjoyable stay

We booked here at the last minute in June 16 and regretted it very soon after arrival. Access to the rooms is via a door marked "Mens Toilet", and is so close to it that the smell coming from it was dreadful. The stairs to the accommodation are disgracefully dirty and smelly, through a storage area that is cluttered and... More

We were made to feel very welcome free parking was nice. The accommodation is very basic but comfortable. The bathroom toilet seat was loose & bath handrail was loose a few adjust mementos would help. The breakfast was just ok -lots of beans on top of fried bread , sausage & bacon could have been nicer , no fruit. Just... More

We were a bit unsure about the place when we walked in to the pub as the smell of air freshener was strong and that is a put off for me. When we were shown the room it was lovely though. Exceptionally clean, with a comfortable bed, and vey quiet too. There was an air freshener in the room too,... More

I visited the Queens Head Hotel one afternoon whilst staying in Alnwick for a couple of days. The bar staff were friendly enough, they had a good selection of beers at a reasonable price. They do serve food but we did not look at the menu as we had eaten else where earlier in the day. The interior of the... More

Stayed here with my husband on a two night break this week as we wanted to visit the castle and gardens. Brilliant location only 5-10:mins from the castle on foot. We received a warm welcome from Chrissy and her staff. She has been there as manager for 2;years but took the lease over in September 2015.:She is making improvements to... More

Over priced room in a smelly dirty pub. Stuffy room with stale smell from carpet, the owners had obviously tried to disguise the smell using over powering plug in air fresheners which only made it worse. Open the window and the room becomes full of cigarette smoke from the outside drinking area. Kept awake in to the small hours with... More

Spent a weekend at this pub with my husband to recharge our batteries. The staff couldn't do enough to make us comfortable & happy. Crisp white bedlinen & fluffy white towels. Huge breakfasts with local produce and, because we're late risers, the option to have lunch instead on the Sunday. Great live local bands both nights, free of charge. Wouldn't... More

Not a hotel just a pud with rooms at hotel prices. Very old and tired and in need of care and attention. In addition they do not provide hotel service, even simple thing like light bulbs needing changing seemed beyond them, Getting toilet tissue took repeated requests. The room was not serviced during our stay so in room tea facities... More
