Have stayed here several times over the past 15 years and have never been disappointed with Jaz and his staff. Always a friendly and warm welcome. Good choice of well kept ales, massive selection of gins, whisky and champagnes. The food is to die for there's no point in me recommending anyone dish cos by the time you get there... More

Just returned from having a lovely Sunday lunch. The fish cake with curry sauce to start with was very tasty. The asparagus starter the others had were equally enjoyed. The pork main was very nice, it was all very tasty. Staff very polite and efficient. Would definitely recommend for a lovely Sunday lunch.

If all country pubs / inns were like this then there would be no complaints. Good food, nice variety of menu, attentively served, in good characterful surrroundings. Consistent over three nights even when busy. Do not go past it.

Just had a lovely meal in the Blue bell . The pub is full of character and the staff were very welcoming. We ate in the dining room but I would have been just as happy in the pub its self as its very spacious and same menu . We we're staying in their accommodation down the road at Foxholes... More

Not sure this is suitable for walkers. We didn't feel welcome. Rooms very small and thought this establishment was trying to be something its not. Some rooms only have small skylights and no window!! Meals very expensive and we were given 3 'complementary' starters before our main meal. Would have preferred to have just what we ordered. Food good but... More

The abiding memory was the rudeness of the Landlord/owner?- whose memorable lines included 1. If you really want but It's not our normal practice ( re request for confirmation email) 2. I would have thought that was obvious ( re where we could leave our bikes) 3. I would have thought you would have known never to assume anything in... More

Delightful village pub serving great ales and the very best of food. Accommodation rooms are very well appointed, quiet and really comfortable. We stayed on the Saturday night and was amazed at the number of people who travelled to this inn simply to enjoy a great meal. Would definitely stay here again.
