We live in the village of Weaverthorpe and since Julian and Rachel have taken over we eat there once every two weeks if not more. The Star is now very cosy and decorated to a high standard. Lots of choice on the menu and changes often. Never had a bad meal. Highly recommended

Recently visited with my family for an evening meal. The food itself was outstanding and I would highly recommend the belly pork. The only thing that let it down was the very slow service. After an hour and a half we had only received our starters. However, I would rather wait for good food than be given crap for a...

We enjoyed a first class Sunday lunch here recently. Lovely, tender beef and veggies with super Yorkshire pudding and gravy. I really enjoyed the chicken liver pate to start and my other half had a delicious warm apple cake to finish. Love the new decor and the wood burner. Great to see a pub in this area go up market...

Over the past few months we have visited The Star for meals and drinks. The experience gets better with each visit, the refurbishment has been completed to a high standard giving the pub a warm and friendly feel. Julian and Rachel are great hosts who always meet you with a welcome smile. The quality and presentation of the food is...

It's so nice to see this wonderful country Inn in capable hands again, as it has been so sad to see its decline over the last few years....the food is tasty and freshly cooked, and their Sunday Lunches are excellent, with a lovely choice of veggies on the side. A well stocked bar adds to the experience as well as...

Stopped on the off chance for a Sunday lunch. Recently renovated with a warm welcome. The food was outstanding, our starters, French onion soup and chicken liver pate, followed by smoked haddock on a bed of crushed potatoes and prawn butter sauce. It was probably one of the best main courses both of us had for ages. I finished off...

Lovely new couple running this pub who have made the place really warm and inviting. Food is always great and at a reasonable price. Can be busy at times, but overall a great little pub in the country.

A lovely friendly warm pub/restaurant. Great food and prices. Think it may be having some refurbishment at the moment. Would have given 5 stars but only had 2 choices of desserts which were chocolaty not my thing but my husband was happy. I think they probably have a bigger selection usually though.

We are local so when Julien and his wife took over we were happy to continue to patronise the Inn. They have certainly made huge improvements to the place, both in terms of décor and menu. So well done on that score. Service however needs some attention. We’ve been a few times now when they have been under-staffed which has...

We enjoyed a really tasty in this restaurant whose new management took over just 11 weeks previously. We had chicken and leek pie followed by dessert. The food was hot and tasty. Service was good too. On a personal preference, I would have liked the plates to have been heated and the deep fried brie to have been warm or...
