We thought that this place was great. A large pot of tea for two, as mentioned, a ginger biscuit with your tea and we also had a slab of delicious carrot cake. Sitting outside and watching the world go by is very relaxing and we are hoping to go back over to try their dinner menu. Very nice, thank you!

What a find! The perfect base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Comfortable, cozy, attentive staff and great food.....wouldn't hesitate in staying there again. The log burning stove was greatly appreciated given the somewhat chilly weather and the great ale selection helped.

Even after 10 years visiting the Kearton Hotel, and new owners, Wendy & Paul, it is still as comfortable and relaxing as ever with all the new alterations and fittings which help to improve your stay.

We booked KCH for a weekend anniversary celebration. From the arriving welcome to the safe journey departing, our small group were treated like old friends located at the head of Swaledale, Thwaite provides a great base for the dales either walking or driving. The hotel is in the centre of the hamlet with good off road parking. On arrival we... More

We had an absolutely lovely time staying with Paul and Wendy in their beautiful and quaint hotel in North Yorkshire. We were a film crew of 6 people and came back after long hours to beautiful meals and roaring fires. On our first night we had troubles with the rest of the crew arriving and couldn't make our restaurant booking... More

Having stopped here for a cup of tea several times, we were slightly disappointed with our stay. Our room was not good; a twin with beds on each side of an L-shaped room, so we couldnt see each other! And my pillow was inches from the door onto a passage with a noisy internal fire door. Every time someone walked... More

We make a point of coming to this great establishment whenever we are visiting the Yorkshire Dales. There is always a friendly welcome by the staff, and the cream tea, teacake and delicious ginger biscuits were scrumptious as usual!
