Stayed for 2 nights in July. Staff very helpful, friendly and attentive. Offered helpful advice about buses to Whitby and taxi fares. Room was recently refurbished to a high standard. Very clean, bed comfortable and details such as well stocked tea/coffee facilities and good quality glasses welcome. Towels were plentiful and thick. Balcony was lovely given the hot weather. Breakfast was... More

We had a one night stop over on our walk. The rooms are lovely and tastefully decorated with great showers. The service was good. We had a great evening meal and our breakfast was tasty with a varied choice.

Having completed the coast to coast walk, we wanted somewhere to celebrate and came upon this gem! Delicious food, good service, what more do you want. I enjoyed the salmon, Hubbie enjoyed the plaice. Served with jacket potato or chips plus salads. Delicious!

My wife and I stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in room 2, which was beautifully decorated & immaculate. With all the little extras and mod cons the room had, it was more like a top rated hotel than a guesthouse. We also had a meal in the bistro, which was amazing. We would certainly recommend... More

Stayed here on Saturday 18th June with my husband and we were thoroughly impressed. From first telephoning to book until we left, nothing was too much trouble. Michelle works so hard, but never too busy to chat and help her guests. Always with a smile. We stayed in room 4 which was fabulous. Had dinner in the restaurant which was... More

3rd stay here and its still as good as the first visit. New owners since the last stay but still great - rooms are 5star and the food as amazing. Good value , great quality and plentiful! But remember book when you book accommodation as the bistro does get full with tourists and locals.

Booked a week or so before our trip and the phone call set the standard. Nothing was a problem, very polite, friendly and not made to feel rushed at any time. We stayed here some years ago and were impressed - we stayed again on 26th and 27th May in Room 5, and have to say it's even better! The property has been refurbished to a very high standard by it's new owners who are very welcoming and friendly. This place puts many 4* hotels to shame! The Bistro food is... More
